  1. Toss up: what part of the world do you live in?
  2. @Ciel How have you care for your other tattoos? Agree with @Howie - talk to you artist. IMO, no to antibacterial ointment AND coconut oil on a fresh tattoo with a re-wrap. Your tattoo needs to heal and breathe. Tegaderm is fantastic for this type is scenario!
  3. Hummm...I always thought that you should never re-wrap a tattoo? I've also never known anyone to use Dove. I've always used a gentle antibacterial soap like Dial Gold. Me, I stick to unscented lotions like Lubriderm and Aveeno until I'm healed then go for the coconut oil. My biggest concern for you is the re-wrapping part. I'll let others chime in but that doesn't seem like it would allow your tattoo to breathe to heal. My two cents. Good luck!
  4. No one will notice, really! I'd bet that the vast majority of the people have certain spots on tattoo's that aren't exactly perfect (including me). Your tattoo is great. Own it. :)
  5. @erikazzed Like Dan said, don't worry about it. You should be just fine. I've typically had more plasma gunk when 1) the tegaderm was applied either immediately (this happened twice) or 2) I had a lot of color applied (generally wait at least 5 hours before applying but still had some gunk). I've also had exactly no gunk a few times after waiting 5 hours to apply the dermal film. Happy Healing!
  6. Well, my response didn't come off as intended. All I was trying to say was that I have mad respect for you doing a memorial tattoo for your mom. My mom is sick and dying, so your tattoo resonated with me. Best wishes.
  7. @OiochaMaybe not a contest, per se since everyone is a winner who has a tattoo by him. Maybe a "founders day" celebration instead. :) @suburbanxcore Still love this hard.
  8. Lots of great advice and support here for you. I think your tattoo is awesome and looks great. If I saw you walking down the street, you'd make me smile and want to give you a hug. I wouldn't, of course, cuz that's just creepy but you get my drift. :)
  9. Interestingly, I had a my first ever "blister" from tegaderm. Maybe it was the location which was on the back of my thigh. Dunno. I do know that within 16 hours, I had a 1" thin, U-shaped blister and big ole raised red mark where the corner of the derm was located. So very attractive. Other than this issue, I'm approaching the peel...
  10. Finished up my tiger with Chris O'Donnell on Friday. We added chrysanthemums, rocks and fingerwaves. I'm over the moon with the way it looks (healed photos to come) and thrilled that I never have to have the back of my thigh tattooed again! Oh, and all while having a full on vertigo.
  11. Ah, gottcha. Your artist will be able to guide you on what could work the best if you want to incorporate the cherry blossoms. Me, I'm terrified of getting kanji for the reason @Dan mentions. :)
  12. Hi! Are you saying that you want the kanji in (re: made with) cherry blossoms?
  13. August 4-6, 2017 in Reading, PA. I haven't seen the lineup announcement yet but if they have the same caliber talent as the past three years, it should be very good. It's such a great convention!
  14. The book is beautifully constructed and the plates are diverse, fascinating and gorgeous. I especially love the personal touch so many artists put in their described of their images. Today, I looked at all of the tiger images for inspiration on how to finish my tiger next week!
  15. 'Daggers' Tattoo of The Month by Grez at Kings Avenue Tattoo
  16. Thanks everyone for the support! You all inspire me learn more everyday and I'm in awe of the amazing work posted here. When I see Grez next week, I'll share the news. I'm humbled.
  17. Welcome! I think that you have amazingly good taste with your existing work. Same person doing all of your tattoos? Maybe ask them? :)
  18. Oh, no Mark. I am so very sorry for your loss and the dates, wow... If you need anything, please reach out. Wishing you love, light and peace. @Devious6
  19. If you want a tattoo, you need to warrior it up. At a minimum, it's going to be uncomfortable. Read the link that @SStu referenced above and you'll see that people's experiences are all over the place. The net is if you want it badly enough, you'll do it. For me, that spot wasn't too bad. I have my own pain scale (I call it the suck factor) that goes from 0-5. My right hip, thigh and butt for two different tattoos in that area had an average suck factor of 2.5.
  20. @Iwar and @ItsNewport Your photo should be pinned at the top of the "do tattoos hurt" topic. (And your new work is so freaking cool.)
  21. @Henrietta Hi. Help me understand your post a little better. Are you worried about it hurting or the time it will take (or both)? I ask because a small tattoo that may take an hour (or less) in a certain spot can be excruciating. A larger tattoo in a different spot can barely be felt by some. Pain is totally dependent on any number of variables (person, location, artist, if your sick, etc). That being said, tattoos do hurt.
  22. Just don't be disappointed if it's not her thing! @sipes23
