  1. before- juice or tea, always. i try to eat something with a lot of natural sugar too, like an all fruit smoothie or lara bar or something. after- lots of water, usually again something sweet (get my blood sugar back up), sometimes a meal. in my pre-vegan days, i'd always get ice cream after. still an option, but all the vegan ice cream spots are far away from any shop i've gone too, and i've been to grumpy to make the trip after.
  2. please, call me Robin. i visited a wolf sanctuary this summer up in Washington where you get fairly close (a few feet) away from the wolves. granted, there are obviously fences separating you. i don't remember it smelling too bad, but i'm also not surprised considering their diet. i really love wolves, but they don't belong as pets (and i'm not just saying that as a vegan), and i could understand why you would be scared. i would've been too. more than anything, i was just curious.
  3. LOVE the color. used to be the color of my room in my first apartment. i think green's are always a good choice.
  4. i just watched it last night. it was nuts! it feels like the season is finally really picking up now. i'm officially no longer tv-edge. consider me addicted!

i really want to dress like Ben Nichols. slowly my wardrobe is changing haha can't feel a thing is a great song. listened to it on repeat while writing another paper last weekend. i love the part "she asked me if i loved her, and i showed her the tattoo. it was no answer, but for then it had to do." so good.

i have to figure out what Slow Dancing lyric i want, but i know i want a picture of my house (traditional, not realist) with the words "in time, all things must change" from Mom. my parents got divorced this year, and my mom's taken it the hardest. that song has really hit me hard. i saw them at the beginning of October right before i left for Chicago, and i started crying when they played it. then the idea just hit me. can't wait to see them in a few weeks.
  8. yea it was pretty crazy! lots of folks from LA and lots of friends i haven't seen in a good while. i think this show and the Chicago one were the only two he's playing here in the States. he said this was his third time in the country which i thought was kind of interesting considering how long he/symarip has been around. he did the splits 3 times, and had trouble getting back up all three times, but managed to do so on his own. i feared for his life every time haha. he also made the band "rewind" after they would start playing so he could talk, which was cool and not cool at the same time. personally, the show wasn't phenomenal (Desmond Dekker was phenomenal) though all my friends disagree with me. all in all though, it was good and i'm glad i went.
  9. woo! i always need a new tshirt. hopefully it won't be too big!
  10. if you can find a cheap carbon fiber tri-pod, that's the way to go. i can practically lift mine up with my index finger. thift stores are a good place to find old tripods too, but they're not always the cleanest obviously.
  11. i was gagging every time they were implying it! it would be a big plot twist though...
  12. put your braces together and your boots on your feet! and give me some of that oooooollld mooooon stompin'! very stoked about tonight. can't wait to cut a rug!
  13. well that's what i thought but then when i clicked on the ad, it was for a whole bike set up and they kept referring to the brand as Tank, with a capital T. anyways, i'm not going to buy it, but at $850, it was tempting for a split second.
  14. that bike looks awesome and sounds impressive, but then again i'm just getting into motorcycles so what do i know. i'm currently looking at used honda rebels with a whopping engine of 250cc! (please note my sarcasm) heard from several short female riders that they're a great starter bike. on another note, has anyone heard of Tank (the brand)? i saw one on craigslist earlier this week and was curious about it, but couldn't find out any real information about the company.
  15. i just read your post on your blog about the nada surf show. i had a similar experience at Cap'n Jazz when they came here to SF.

  16. thanks Julio. i mainly just do it for fun since i'm not a tattoo artist. i'll see if i can find some sign painting manuals. that hadn't even occurred to me.
  17. and this weekend will be busy as hell. so far this week: - witnessed a meltdown at a curatorial committee meeting - was rear ended on my way to work (both me and my car are ok, i'll end up with a free, brand new rear axel and bumper) - overheard another meeting where i was suggested to be THE curator for the bod mod exhibit (we'll see what happens) - being brought on a non-work related secret project with someone who i admire - feeling exhausted still from my trip, school, and life in general. then this weekend: -homework and pre-party tonight -sacramento to walk and remember Ques (RIP big bro), then volunteer for days of the dead at work (more death), then homework - sfo tattoo convention with the Kerseys and then homework in the evening. come monday, i'm going to fall asleep in my class.
  18. almost always happens to me. nothing like being in rural ireland with one set of clothes and a bunch of photo equipment for 7 days! so it looks like homework and getting up at 6:30 in the morning on saturday to go do the AFSP walk in sacto may get in the way of coming to this (or at least staying late). if i'm there, i'll be the short girl with pigtails, probably wearing a jacket with a huge "liberate" patch on the back (or a cro-mags hoodie). i'm pretty shy which some people confuse with being intimidating (seriously, how intimidating can a 5ft girl be?), but once you get me started, i'll be a blabbermouth (as if you couldn't tell this from here : P)
