I was harassed by a cop here in Portland with sleeves was trying to catch people riding the train with no fare on 4th of July. I bought an all day ticket at 9pm to go downtown and came back at 1am train stops running at 230 hence end of day. He threatened to write me a ticket because it was after midnight and I was drunk enough to tell him he was just upset that he was stuck on bus duty and he was fucking wrong. Still not sure how I didn't go to jail that night or even got a ticket.

Commute to work 20 minutes.

Welp. A lot of PD I know are able to admit when they are on a shit detail and rarely the public catches on. He was probably intrigued by how accurate your drunken observations were.

Pre: Bitch about getting tattooed.
Post: Bitch about having been tattooed.
Drugs: 1 muscle relaxer. 1 non-drowsy antihistamine.
I've found that I tense up heavily after 3+ hours of getting tattooed, so the muscle relaxer keeps me from converting all of that tension into a sore body after the tattoo. Sore body + sore tattoo and no one wins. The antihistamine keeps the surface of the skin from swelling up so much and makes it a little more bearable.
Food: Totally changed my ritual since reading my friend David's take on tattoo nutrition.

I use to make sure I ate about an hour before, and then after I'd head out to find a med rare steak or burger. A few nights ago I got my first tattoo since going vegetarian. I did not get a steak or a burger and I was hella grumpy because of it. Not a happy camper. Now I have to find some other after tattoo ritual. Seeing as beer is so highly recommended, I think I will start with that and build from there.
I've also felt that pain killers were cheating, like if you had the balls for a tattoo then you should have the balls for a tattoo. I've had one artist use numbing cream once during the work, but I didn't see that it made that much of a difference. When I get around to doing my ribs I'm pretty sure I'll cry like a sissy and probably cheat any way I can and screw what I thought before. We've had a couple of highly medicated people come in the shop and they made me uncomfortable. I'd hate to have a medical emergency on my hands if they misjudged their dosing.

I don't understand taking pain killers. It's mainly because I get tattooed spontaneously for the most part and I don't want to get used to something that won't always be readily available. Plus, I kind of think "no pain, no game." Man, when I got my stomach tattooed it was one of the worst pains I've ever experienced, but when I was done I was pretty pumped on having sat like a champ for it. It made me feel like I truly earned it, especially since it's a badass tattoo (panther fighting a snake).
Fuck, once I saw a kid getting his area code tattooed on him in the shape of weapons, and he was fucking balling. It was very ironic and pathetic.

So heres 3 tattoos by Ralph Johnstone done at what i figured was the 400 S State Street shop that he and Tatts worked until they changed the law to 21 in 1963 and everyone closed shop..
This guy said he was pretty young when he got tattooed by Johnstone but said he was always very nice to him despite the super scary guys that hung out there. He said Johnstone introduced him to some mob guys that used to hang out in the shop when he was there claiming that one of them was Capones brother.

Lochlan, I'd hate to bore anyone with the details of my dissertation, though it's nice of you to ask. In a nutshell, I'm writing about Los Angeles and the rise of gangsta rap. My goal is to write something that, unlike most academic books about hip-hop, is actually interesting. We shall see.

We prefer to call her my "child girlfriend" due to the age difference.

I think your tattooer makes a good point. The only problem is the more you get tattooed the more you realize there are tons of people you want to get tattooed by, so not only do you have to worry about different tattoo styles, but having different tattooers stuff blend together. I abandoned the idea a long time ago and just get what I want and eventually it will all be filled in. But I would say if you are really looking for a full body suit look listen to your tattooer, oh and don't get biomech.

Yeah if you've never had a finger nail ripped off, it's insainly sensitive. I remember that even if I was sleeping and my finger rubbed against my bed sheet it would send shivers down my spine, until the skin toughed up. But still who thinks "hey I should take this chance to tattoo that" that's way to hardcore for me. It's in another ball game, I'm going to go back to my bottle and nice soft plush toys.
[edit] Ohh yeah should add this as a spot I don't plan to tattoo, and the roof of my mouth. Fun Fact: The roof of your mouth is the only spot on your body that you can tickle yourself.

its been a few years....2005 I believe as Energon was the last line I picked up. I made a decent profit on my G1/Japanese collection and took a bath on the rest to the tune of a couple grand, ouch
