Got tattooed at Dedication on Broadway and at Lifetime on Colfax, both are awesome shops worth checking out.

My roommate has a pit mutt and she is the biggest sweetheart ever.

10 days smoke free today, straight cold turkey. I saw a friend of mine the day before I quit, he mentioned that he was trying to kick it, I said "well I haven't bought any today at least." He says to me that "well that's not quitting!" Here I am thinking, well duh! But I still feel like hearing that helped.

I don't have a link to like your post that says you booked, but that's awesome, glad you got it worked out.

Excited to see this is coming back to Keystone, I missed out last year and plan on making up for that this year. Anybody else thinking of heading out this way in September?

Speaking of Mr. Flatmo, check out his interview right here on LST.

I've quit for months at a time on more than a few occasions, just keep coming back to it for some reason. After getting sober (2 years last Monday!) I know I can do it, but sometimes I use the whole "this is the only vice I've got left" excuse and that kinda throws a wrench in it. I could save so much money though and I think that's the way I've got to think about it.

While it feels nice to be in control of every detail of a your (first?) tattoo, you have to keep in mind that tattooers are paid to not only shove ink into your skin, but also draw and design art that will hold and work as a tattoo. Find someone whose style you dig, maybe you can give them your sketch as reference to show the elements you want and the poses you'd like them in, but don't be afraid if they come back with something totally different. Too many limitations can be annoying, plus they might think of some awesome addition that never even crossed your mind. I like giving a degree of freedom so they can be excited about the work they're doing.

@slayer9019 trying to get into that same boat, lady and I have decided to start eating better and walking more, still gotta quit smoking though. After getting a car my walking went down to nothing from an average 3 miles a day, starting to catch up with me... cutting out the little junk food I do eat and looking into gym memberships in my area

I was going to surprise my folks when I went home to see them this past weekend but before I had a chance to my brother dropped the bomb, ha. Mom was over in his town for a wedding, took him out to lunch and he says "Hey, did you see Alex's tattoo!? Its really cool." So he showed her the picture on my instagram and the next day Dad texts me "I wanna see your tat," so I sent him a picture. They were really cool about it and seemed to genuinely like it. My uncle just got his first tattoo a couple months ago, in his 50s, and when he saw mine he was blown away, "that's gotta be like a thousand dollar tattoo" type of reaction. I told him some shops in his area to check out if he wants more.

Don't mean to jack your thread, but I have a similar question. I'll be visiting my folks at the end of the week, they have a pool, and at some point we'll definitely be going to the beach. As of now its 11 days old and I have one small scab that I think should be gone by the time I get there, anybody think I'll have issues with sunscreen? I'll most likely stay out of the chlorinated pool and the lake is still too cold so I'm really just worried about the sun.

If y'all have too much pride to go in and buy a big pink bottle of Coochie, Edge just started making a couple shaving creams specifically for... manscaping, I guess. Edge Body, comes in like a squeezy bottle, I haven't tried it out yet but it exists.

The impatience thing is the reason I have a bad tattoo  I wanted one straight away, didn't know any better, walked into a shop and got one done.
I am now older (and hopefully wiser!) and I was going to get a quote tattoo on my arm, started googling came across some tattoo forums and pictures of awesome work so now the quote is going to go on the wall at home and I am planning a better tattoo for me!
Always excited to see the internet working correctly. May as well share my LST success story, ha.
I always wanted a tattoo, but all around me I always saw garbage, so I only had really dumb ideas for pieces I wanted done. I also spent all my money on drugs and booze so thankfully none of my bad ideas came to fruition. After I got sober I started thinking more seriously about it and during my research found LST and some blogs with quality work, I finally realized how awesome tattoos could be, versus the shit I see walking around town. Almost done healing my first piece, super excited to collect more!

Still slowly pushing through a Dance with Dragons, not that its a bad book, I love the series, but I haven't been compelled to pick it up in a while. I made more progress when I was splitting time between these and whatever Christopher Moore I had lying around.
