Ah yes, using a Russian propaganda poster and ironically using the term "Red Scare" is racist. It's not. It's a double entendre.

Hopefully, as someone who unfortunately allowed this discussion to begin, I can resolve it as well. We all sympathize and want you to be well and happy and tattooed. It sucks so bad that something happened and there was a reaction. What we are all saying is that there are many variables at play. The pigment. The environment. What your tattooer touched. What you touched, washed with, etc.

I've got a lot of red in my body, as well as many other colors. I can safely say I have a lot more tattoos than you. There are no ranks that are closed here, we just don't talk a great deal about technical info because discussions like this are not the most productive (obviously). Keep asking your doctors, and your tattooer, and I hope you discover a solution.

@xcom Fantasia is a fine pigment to use. I've even it used on myself. You can stop the witch hunt, and honestly, it isn't very appropriate for you to be talking about this on the board. I can pretty much guarantee it has nothing to do with the pigment.

This is so untrue. Unless it's in an area with lots of sun. I have color tattoos 25 years old with no shading, just color, and are still at 75% from the day I got them.

Welcome. Hard luck story bud. The only thing I feel I can suggest (3rd year apprentice) is visit other shops. If he has other shops, go talk to the other tattooers. Hang out. Get tattooed. If you're serious, you'll make connections with better tattooers and go from there. And by the way, worrying about your first few tattoos not being good? You're always gonna feel that way. That is why we try to progress.

I'd stop while you're at it man. Let it go and hey, keep getting and posting good tattoos.

Whew. Side of knee done yesterday by Kevin Collins at Vanness & Fellows in Raleigh. I can't say enough about Kevin, Mark, and AJ. One of the nicest tattoo experiences I have ever had.

I'd express your concern with the shop owner and the tattooer. Hopefully they will ease your worries. But it sounds like this is out of your control. Which, unless you are tattooing yourself, is always the case. Ask questions. Get answers. Make a decision. Be patient.

@herewego, yeah. It's literally two doors down from Saved if you're facing it. It has a coffee shop, bakery, groceries, and other incidentals.
