  1. I think that the moral of this thread is do not ask for advice about specific tattoos designs. A much better question to ask is "Are there any tattoo artists in my area that you recommend?". You will most likely receive a lot of great suggestions. Then you take that information, and go into some shops and look at portfolios. Then you decide who's portfolio you like the best, and you talk to them. A genuine human interaction. You seem like a very nice person. I am sure that if you went into a shop to talk to an artist about what it is that you want you would be presently surprised with what they have to say.
  2. It looks great. How many hours so far, and how many sessions have you broken it up into? I have one side down and one to go. It will be my last multiple session tattoo, and I am happy about that, but not so happy about another rib tattoo.
  3. I think that it is a pretty reasonable request. I am in the process of explaining to my wife why I want to send a few bucks to a guy I have never met for his birthday. You will know who wears the pants in my family when you receive a gift card with my name on it or when you do not receive a gift card with my name on it. Right now its not looking to good for you, but we just sat down to have a couple of drinks so your chances should get better. Wish me luck, and Happy Birthday.
  4. Churches and a vacant middle school. Holy fuck this country is in trouble.
  5. Does your daughter have a history of mental illness or just the drug addiction? If she does have some form mental illness then she will most likely need to be treated for that before anything can happen with her drug addiction. Is it just cocaine or is it other drugs as well? Does she use needles? If so is she getting tested for HIV and Hepatitis on a regular basis? I think that there has been some great advice given by people with a lot of hands on experience, but without a more complete picture of your daughter's life it makes it hard to know what is the right approach.
  6. This was done by Vinse One (not on me) while he was still at Liberty in Seattle. He recently moved to Tattoo Paradise.
  7. TIM LEHI The same girl has the backpiece on this page of Lehi's blog. She is definitely not afraid of images that are not generally thought of as feminine. I love it.
  8. Matt started both of our backs at the same time. I finished mine up last week. How much do you have left?
  9. A couple of months ago my friend Vinse said that someone came around trying to sell some fake Paul Rogers machines. I don't know the guys name, but I know that someone has been trying this hustle/
  10. I just read, on Instagram that Jordan Teear from Frith Street was in a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles. Not a whole lot of information was given, but it said he is in stable condition with two broken legs. I am sure that Valerie and Stewart know more about it, and they will probably post later. I wanted to go ahead and put this up because there has been a Paypal account started to help with donations. It is bad enough to be in the hospital in your hometown, but infinitely worse to be in one thousands of miles from home. I think that the account is [email protected] but you should double check that before you make a donation.
  11. Leslie was the best. He was truly original.
  12. Maybe give this post another try. I think you posted the wrong photo.
  13. I love that Eddie Deutsche one. I was in Los Angeles a couple of months ago, and I really wanted to get tattooed by Eddie, but time and money did not allow for it.
  14. All sizes | photo-10 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Matt Arriola finished this last night. We will add background, but not until I tattoo my right rib cage
  15. photo-10 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!Matt Arriola finished this up last night. About five and a half hours worth of flames, teeth, and eyeballs. Background will be added after my right rib piece is finished. I will put it into the full back piece thread as well.
  16. I love the "your body is a temple" logic against tattoos. It is the perfect example of using something totally out of context. I am a bit rusty on my bible study, but I am 90% sure that when Jesus said that he was referring to prayer. I think that he had travelled to the temple and everyone there was acting like an asshole so he stood outside and said "fuck the temple, it has become a real fucking mess, so just pray wherever you are. Your body is the temple and wherever you pray God will hear you" I am not sure when that was turned into "don't get that anchor on your arm". I know that there is a line or two in there about don't mark yourself, but there at least that many lines about not eating bacon as well.
  17. I am thinking about it. Jack Rudy will be there, but I am not sure if he is tattooing. I am about to drop a load of money tomorrow at Liberty, and I think that I am going to try and get tattooed by Marco Hernandez next month, so I don't know if I will have any thing leftover for the convention. But I am pretty dumb with my money so I may go down anyway.
  18. I have been a fan of your tattoos for a long time. Welcome.
  19. Electric in Jersey. NY Adorned almost always has someone good doing walk-ins. Top-shelf in Queens. Greenpoint tattoo.
  20. Eil Quinters did the eagle, and Mike Schweigert did the rest. Mike posted it on his Instagram yesterday.
  21. I was afraid someone on here would be a publicist. Sorry Duffa. I lived in Los Angeles for eight years, and my experiences with publicists and agents were generally pretty bad. Sweeping generalizations are never good or right, and I don't usually make them. I will rescind my statement now that I know there is at least one publicist in the world that I think is a nice person.
