  1. it's not like tattoos are a gom jabbar, sifting out the humans from the animals. +1 if you get the reference
  2. thanks to @CultExciter's sig for bringing me here. Been seriously considering a cartoon frankenstein. Not boris karloff, though he is dear to my heart. frankenstein is my shit, in my top 5 of favorite books ever. and a cthulu tattoo would be bitchin' too
  3. Ok, I am really not trying to be rude. I won't even assume you're trolling. Look at the lines and the colors. The colors look faded, yet these tattoos cannot be that old, and some are obviously fresh. Look at the lines, some of them shake, they dont connect well. If you really, really, really care about your wife in the Dominican Republic getting a good tattoo, don't get her a tattoo there
  4. Wow, 4 days in and it's already stunning in here... @Wilhell and @Graeme, good job to the both of you. I know you didn't put the tattoos on yourselves, but your taste is impeccable. - - - Updated - - - that's worded a bit funny, I mean, you didn't tattoo the image yourself.
  5. meh, i dont use the term, but sometimes it is nice to vent about the douchey things people say
  6. They all suck, and look washed out. You're very rude
  7. My father, who has no tattoos and is Catholic, asked me what would happen if I met the perfect man but he hated my tattoos... My response :"If he is the perfect man, then he'd love my tattoos." He also used to teach me as a kid that tattoos will make you go to hell, but has since reversed his opinion on that.
  8. It's problably the worst I've ever seen. Too much fake drama. And their egos are terrible. There is this one pretty decent guy on there, he's an older black dude.
  9. The Cat's Revenge by Claude Bauls
  10. literally, this show has hit such a new low, I am watching a fucking trainwreck
  11. Well, personally, I was trying to get across that normally I do not like bio-mech tattoos, but his are exceptionally good and I enjoy them. Basically, definitely opened my eyes a bit about them.
  12. Interesting observation. Maybe it's because of the way women's fashions are designed, or maybe it's societal pressure, but for me, I feel like I still want to look like me, including all of my skin, and I'd rather have tattooed accents then just fill up every space because I can. I picture myself having a professional job, getting married, going out, aging.... and I'd rather still have alot of my natural skin than be tattooed at that point. Who knows, maybe when I am older and my vanity/financial/social concerns wane, I'll go get full sleeves ;)
  13. Yeah, the colors are super nice, not what i'd normally be into, but very well done :) welcome!
  14. Very interesting thread. I totally disagree with the fact that people say we're over thinking it. We're not going for full body coverage, so we need to be careful with where tattoos go. As for myself, I have been heavily debating the issue lately. I really love the look of numerous tattoos on the leg, with negitive space between... of course in american traditional. But is it for me? I don't know. When I see my legs, I can't envision it. At most I can picture maybe one more tattoo each on my lower legs, and maybe one on my thigh... which would bring me up to five on my legs, but that seems a bit much for me. I don't have any tattoos on my arm, and while I have deeply considered it, I don't think it would be the route for me. While it could be beautiful, I just dont see myself with arm tattoos, doesn't fit the look I want for myself. Definitely considered getting the other side of my chest with another lady head to make it look complete, but at the same time, I want to wait until I am older. I can see myself getting the other back of my shoulder done, then filling the gap on my left shoulder between the lady and ganesh, and maybe something middle upper back. I don't want to rush or fill up my skin too quickly, without concern for career or for the future. and Probably anything above 30% coverage is too much for me. I'll leave the super extensive tattooing to my sister, she wants alot of tattoos, even more than me. So, as of now, I am at 4 tattoos, I'm seeing anything above 12 tattoos as something not really for me (at this moment) things might change as my professional goals change, and as I age, but I still love the look of my milky white skin accented with tattoos, not just tattooed everywhere.
  15. its a type of pattern i believe
  16. Nice! @Pugilist, if you do go the tebori route, what would you be getting?
  17. The bittersweet taste of irony. Im done with this thread
  18. I really love your frog tattoo, welcome to LST
  19. I really love the girl who's using the rose to cover all her lady bits... nice job!
  20. I'll be with you all in spirit, live about an hour and a half away from SF, but unable to do anything. Have fun!
  21. Can you just go? You refuse to get your head out of the sand, you don't want help, you want smiles and gold stars. Fuck it. Your original tattoo sucks, you're going to make it worse by going to the ocean, and now you want us to help you find some kind of stock photo to help you get a new sick tat from the same shitty artist who did your last one. You don't want help, you want a pat on the back and a tattoo idea spoon fed to you.
  22. I really liked the video... I noticed that Shige's tattoos look great in pictures, but then they actually showed some of the tattoos on film, with moving, breathing people... So dynamic, it's hard to explain. It's better than the pictures. And I was astounded by the colors more so than I was when I saw the pictures. Also, I saw the hanya backpeice that has been copied so many times... all those copies suck, the original was just beautiful
  23. You don't need to only put tattoos on your back. Lighthouses haven't been overdone, if you like them, get them. An island with a palm tree isn't too cliche. Those are common tattoos for a reason, because they are good tattoos. I find that when you try to make everything too unique, too meaningful, you lose some of the artistry. You don't need us to make your decisions, but I implore you to think wisely. You have two nice tattoos, there is no need to rush into the next one. Think think think. Good luck
  24. Go Japanese. It'll be worth it. The image will hold up longer. Realism looks nice for a while, but it doesn't last, and you'll have that arm for the rest of your life. But, the realism artist you did pick was very skilled at doing realism, very pretty.
