So I made my first purchase of real art from some old dude named Thom deVita.... Now I'm trying to figure out how to frame/protect it. Is this something I can do on my own? Should I take it to a professional? How much should I expect to pay?

peeling/flaking is similar to when you get a bad sun burn and the damaged skin dries out and falls off as it heals scabbing is similar to when you fall and scrape your knee and a thick scab forms after a day or so

^this made me laugh my suggestion is to ask your wife to come during the middle/end of the appointment because you might need her as a distraction from the pain after the first hour and she can bring you a snack.

My currently in progress 3/4 sleeve involves 6 hour round trip (Boston to NY) drives once a month for at least the next 3 months. Gas and tolls add to the total investment but its well worth it to get tattooed by Chris O'Donnell.

That sums it up very well. You got tattoos because you wanted to be a "tattooed person" not because you appreciate the art.

I googled his name and the shop still has the stolen/fraudulent portfolio on their website and your lady heads basically scream "Valerie Vargas made me!" so I'm surprised anyone would try to pass your work off as their own.

Right now my plan is to only have 4 tattoos above my knees. 2 sleeves (3/4 length), 1 back piece (neck to knees), and 1 front piece (also neck to knees).
