Is the Jesus in your latest post still available?

Your best option will always be to visit a tattooer and talk to them about it. The internet is great for reference, but only reference. A good tattooer will take any idea or reference that you have and make it into a tattooable design that fits your body. Take the time and effort to go see a tattooer and it will be worth it. You get the tattoos you deserve... Meaning, if you only look online and then ask someone to tattoo exactly that, they will. You will get something that looks like it came from the internet.

I actually had some tears in my eyes a few times during this episode. I feel so honored to have even the tiniest fraction of a place in the tattoo world. Absolutely humbled.

By all means, if you want to add to your back, go ahead. If you really want a cool tattoo, I emplore you to explore the idea of getting something as a standalone piece somewhere else or going larger with the things on your back. You live in Boise right? I am sure there are some good tattooers out there that you could set up consultations with. Find someone who's work you like and talk to them. A competent tattooer will be able to help steer you in the direction that will get you a rad tattoo. Good luck and keep us posted.

Haha, just turned 18 so now I am free to do what I please! (As long as I have the money, of course) I also got some piercings done on my birthday - cheek piercings, an industrial, and my belly button. ;)
You don't mess around. If I was you, I would move to Yokahoma and finsh your Shige bodysuit this year.

Im sure your "tatted up" buddy has better knowledge than the person who tattooed you right? He would probably know more about how a tattoo heals than someone who actually tattoos. Seriously guy, the person with the answers you needed gave you the correct answer and because you didn't like the answer, you ignored it. When you only listen to the things you want to hear, you miss the things you need to hear.

Thank you.
I did. He said no sun block. But I am going to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in 9 days and my tat is 6 days old or fresh. Swimming and lots of sun are in our plans.
Not anymore. Your tattoo will get destroyed....I promise.
Wait as long as possible to put sunblock on it. And that saltwater is literally going to shred your tattoo. Depending on how you heal...it may not be healed by the time your trip comes around.

Anyone have experience with heeling the palm side of your fingers? How does that go?

Marco Hernandez in Olympia WA. He owns Lit Fuse, and is the best black and grey around. Portraits or anything else.
I would also suggest Marco.

That's interesting, why?
edit:
Actually, no.. don't have to justify this. People come here to learn, I'm not a mod, and I don't feel the need to display any sense of importance by telling people off who don't know their dick from their toe when it comes to tattoos.
I was not saying anything meant to be taken in a demeaning manner. I was making an observation that, in the short while I have seen you post here, that you always seem to actually make sense and take the time to form a complete and whole thought. Even when speaking to people who obviously don't deserve it, you make a solid response. I was trying to compliment you man.
@Graeme Our barbarian horde can be covered in tattoos and metal as fuck, right?

I believe it. I've seen this situation before, there are a few shops out here just like that. I've been trying really hard to not be an asshole in this thread. Luckily, shops like that usually end up closing within 3 years. People just get really hungry for the money or the recognition or the power that comes with tattooing, and they let their egos/greed/integrity get out of line.
I know of a shop in Hayward where one of the "artists" took on an apprentice after he had been tattooing for 3 years, and that apprentice was one of 3. Everything that comes out of that place is garbage. I know... nobody that loves tattooing wants to believe that this stuff actually happens, but it does. I guess that's why it's so direly important that sites like this one exist.
Kay, done with this thread, steppin off the soap box.
If this forum as a whole was facing certain annihilation from the barbarian horde and the only two options were to fight and surely die, or back down and live another day. I feel like you would be the dude whos like "Uh, guys, lets just let this one go". Meanwhile, every other member of the forum charges straight to instant death.

Kore Flatmo.
Incredible dude. Genuine. Smart. Funny. Bad Ass tattoos. Gives zero fucks about any kind of bullshit.
Of course, my current in progress backpiece and leg mean I will be getting to see him a whole lot over the next several years.

The first three days is the most important. I use aquafore on day three twice and then complete dry heal from then on.

Use Higgins Black Magic as your black. Truest, deepest waterfast black there is. Spend the money on good brushes. I like simmons blend brushes...squirellhair, synthetic blend. Don't worry about trying to be perfect. You will do hundreds of watercolors before you get one good one.
The most important things for me are this: Paint loose. paint fast, line with a brush, don't worry about actual color until you can blend black super smooth(from true black to paper with a perfect gradient).
If you have more specific questions, please post 'em.

Actually it does not have to be finished as per the rules:
but it usually is in your best interest to wait until it is completed, or is similar to how I am getting my leg done which is in pieces.
Thanks oh wise one! lol
I remember a convo not to long ago about it being proper contest etiquette to wait until the piece is finished. I think that is what i'll go by...
-
This is an awesome piece and I cannot wait to see when it's finished. That's when I'll vote for it. I think this contest should be for finished tattoos.
It's supposed to be. Thats the only reason I havn't posted pictures of my back on here.

That's Arlen. :) Garland is actually the town that they mention in Zombieland. :)
