Thanks! I must be blessed with happy skin, because I rarely ever seem to scab as long as I wash everything well enough that first time. I think the only place I really did was the upper inside of my arm. We actually had to do a few touch-ups.
you are lucky ! :) although I will say that years ago I used to scab badly, especially with red & blue ink,but the quality of inks has gotten better since the 80's and my knowledge of proper healing techniques have also improved ! LOL

Hey folks,
Okay, so it took a while, but I'm going to try to get this off the ground come November 1.
I'm thinking themes, like several of you suggested (Examples: Japanese back piece, daggers, girl heads, fine line b&g etc). How about "fillers" for our first contest. That sound cool?
The following is my suggestion for new rules. Please speak up if you have any suggestions for changes.
The tattoo picture that gets posted in this thread for "Month/Year" will be submitted for polling of Last Sparrow's Best "(INSERT THEME)" tattoo. This is all in good spirit and fun of course. The submission process opens on the first of the month and ends on the 20th of the month. After that there will be an open poll for one week, which will close on the 27th, and the tattoo with the most votes wins.
Your tattoo picture must be posted in this thread (both tattooers and tattoo customers can win) in order to qualify.
- Include with your photo/post...tattoo artist name & tattoo shop.
- You MUST be the one who has the tattoo or did the tattoo.
- It MUST be a finished tattoo
- It must fit the theme of the contest (obviously)
I think it's a great idea,thanks for doing this,and I get the "filler" part,that's easy.I like the entire thing,let's do it !
and to all, let's not take it too seriously,it's just a silly fun contest.

I'm suprised that the contest is coming back at this point as it seems like activity is down quite a bit and the thread activity that is attended to has some real dumbass content - anyway - i'd say no on a theme like fillers - too hard to decide what filler is - to me filler is when really heavily tattooed folks get small tattoos to 'fill' the gaps - how many heavily tattooed people are still on this board - just my two cents
nice to see such a positive attitude towards this ! way to go !

I spoke with Roman Abrego at the show yesterday about a portrait of my dog,I showed him the picture I want done and he loved the idea and wants to schedule me for it,but with the detail and size we talked about it's going to be about 10 hours so I will drive down to his shop in so cal.
He is a really nice guy too.
it will be of this pic.

@Hoople my opinion brotha but I believe what is said in the tattoo shop should stay there
you did get a nice tattoo btw
well,I have to say that when my wife and myself got tattooed by Oliver Peck last February , my wife and myself agreed beforehand to not discuss ink masters at all with him,we figured he gets it all the time and we didn't want to do that to him,Oliver and myself talked a lot about general bullshit the whole time though, just not his celebrity or the show, and when we get tattooed next weekend by him,it will be the same thing.
I do like to talk during a tattoo,it helps take my mind off the pain.

so,it looks like nobody from here is going, but if so,I will be mingling most of the day tomorrow(sat 10/15)

hi and welcome kult90,sit down and relax, start reading everything here ! there is a lot of good advice from a lot of good people here.

my wife and myself look at it this way,it's silly stupid entertainment,a break from news and politics.
and we have learned more about tattoo art and tattoos along the way,by seeing all the mistakes made.
neither of us would surely never be a "canvas" on that show.

As much as I enjoy tattoos, I honestly admit to watching this show religiously.
I am happy to see artists I am familiar with on here this season too.
now you can start making fun of me.
we like it too,we watch every episode,
it's kind of fun for us since we got tattoos from Oliver in feb this year at fresno, and we have 6 hours of appointments with him in SF on 10/22 at http://bayareatattooconvention.com/
he's a kick to talk to.

I'm an old guy,but I manage to do 20 pushups and 20 sit ups and walk 1/2 mile 7 days a week, every morning.
I know that's not much,but at 57 it's better than nothing ! LOL

Hey guys,
i just had a forearm sleeve almost a week ago inner forearm 6 days ago outter forearm 5 days ago to be specific and a total of 8hrs under the gun. Now it's swollen even my fingers are a bit too but no red no pain nothing just swollen. I've had previous tattoos and none of them swelled like that. Is this normal because it's a large piece or should i be concerned. Thanks.
totally normal,I have tattoos all over my body, except my hands, and I have never swelled up on any tattoo,
but recently I had my hands done and they both swelled up like crazy,no the swelling didn't hurt, and it went down in 4 or 5 days.
here is my hand,
swollen a day after,
and then a month after and it's normal.
and I started getting bruising in certain spots from getting tattooed that never happened to me before, but it went away ,
it should be ok,keep it elevated,or maybe ice it up a little,or try an OTC anti-inflammatory like advil or motrin(ibuprofen) or aleve(naproxen),keep it out of the sun.

I'm pretty sure Margot Robbie doesn't have those real tattoos ,it's just for the movie.I think the only real one she has is a tiny anchor on her ankle.
and who cares if other people have similar tattoos anyway ? like was said,it's probably very common.
there are probably thousands of women who have that tattoo there.

If anyone thinks that pig is alive, I have some news for them.
the one in the picture above may or may not be,but did you read the entire article ?
and yes,the entire thing could be bullshit, but just the idea of it repulses me.
either way,a microchip is a much better tool for ID than any piercing or tattoos on any animal.
as far as the "ID" thing goes,my dog is "chipped",I saw the procedure and it was like getting a vaccination ,I certainly would never consider piercing or tattooing an innocent animal.

I know exactly how to feel ! there is no confusion at all ! it's very clear to me ! it's a fucked up thing to do on ANY living animal,
we can easily and humanely chip pets for ID purposes,
any type of tattooing animals should be illegal.
ART ? LOL far from it. FUCK the whole idea and FUCK the people that are doing that !
