I photographed my wifes neck tattoo healing from 24th December to 8th January.
The photos are in date order from the 24th December - 31st December. The last one is 8th January.
Well on the way to healing now.

Check this shit out! I guess this is what you get for tattooing both the back and front of your leg the same week...

Notice how crazy the sockmarks are on my swollen leg, haha!

I'll choose a classic image over a convoluted amalgam of exceedingly sentimental ideas any day.
He kept the design pretty much the same with a few stylized differences. If it ain't broke...

I think the best part of this intro is the feeling that I'm getting lately from LST and the rest of the tattooed world, that -- sorry, gonna get real emotional here -- as a wearer of tattoos, you wear them through your life and it becomes part of your journey. And sometimes it's flipped -- you go on your tattoo walkabout when you're a little more flush with cash and they can become the catalyst for travel, friends, for your life. That it's all intertwined. And shit, most of us on here don't even do this for a job.
The other best part is obviously your Trevino tattoos and your killer appointments coming up.

If you haven't already, check out the Fine Arts Library on your campus. If you are lucky, they may even have an Asian library or collection. And don't stop at your campus. Most colleges allow general admittance to their libraries and California is chock-a-block with institutes of higher learning. I have enjoyed several UC libraries this way (including Berkeley...they have some of Horiyoshi's books including 100 Demons...that was a really fantastic day:D ).
It's old school but still my favorite way to find inspiration. Take a day. Do a general search ("Japanese art" or whatever). Get an idea of where your subject is and walk the rows. Pull the books that seem interesting/have a lot of pictures and sit and flip. When you find something you like, photocopy or cell pic that bad boy.

I just noticed that you got tattooed by Chris. I got tattooed by him in 1993 and 1997 (and a long "touchup" session in 2008, haha). I lived in Austin from 1990-97.

Goodness I'm jealous! I'm just getting started but my spouse really isn't into as much as I am. Love seeing what everyone's had done so post up them photos!!
