Yes, no problems at all, 3-4 hours sessions.

I had post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation on my arms, no problems at all for either of my sleeves.

Thanks, everybody.I wish I could take more credit for how rad the hand is, but all credit goes to Steve. I have one more to share, from today. Hyottoko from Civ, followed by one last pass to get rid of the money in my wallet, then about 10 hours or so back to Kansas.
My coworker Jimmy also got tattooed by Paul Dobleman and Stefano (the flower/chain that he posted earlier) to finish his lower arm, and we brought along my parents and got them tattooed. Neither had been to a convention in about 20 years. My mom got a big Texas tribute from Oliver Peck (after I told her an idea she should get while we were in a Whattaburger), and my dad got a really nice rose on his neck from Bobby Padron from ROA. He also won best small B&G with his 30 year old Charlie Cartwright hand tattoos. I doubt we'll ever hear the end of it... in a good way.
Also picked up tons of prints, a small Beppe Strambini original, and some stories. Learned through keeping my eyes open as well. Looking forward to next year.

Saw this one from Dana Helmuth. What can I say, I'm a fan of his work.

Aw man, everyone is getting such great stuff lately. I haven't been tattooed this year yet. I think tomorrow I will be making an appointment with some friends to get one existing piece touched up and another finished. Way overdue for that, so there's something to look forward to.
Anyway I think most of you have seen this on the 'gram, but here it is again

TaeTae reacted to Tesseracts in Kitsune
I'm going to post some more pictures I found, and when I have time I'll try to find out who made all of these so I can credit them.
I've been doing some research on kitsune since I decided they were cool tattoos. Some are considered servants of the deity Inari, and are considered more trustworthy than wild foxes. According to Japanese tales all foxes are capable of magic, however, and wild foxes can be both good or evil. Here are some links about foxes in case anyone wants them.

I'm thinking of going down to the NYC tattoo convention to try to get this done. The website says the Horitoshi family will be there. I don't know how easy it will be to get something like this done though, I've never gotten a tattoo in my life and I've never been to a tattoo convention.

TaeTae got a reaction from CaptainMidnight in Kitsune
Really love this simple Fox and Crane piece
Am I right in thinking there are two types of Kitsune in Japanese stories? The benevolent kind and malevolent kind, anyone have any more specific info on this?

I agree, I think that picture needed a flat surface to show it properly but we live and learn. :)

TaeTae got a reaction from peterpoose in Latest tattoo lowdown.....
@peterpoose No tattoo is perfect and even the best can make mistakes, to be honest though, considering your favoured style is black and grey realism, I don't think that artists work is overly impressive in that style. You are very dedicated to the work you get, respect for that. Hope you get something you are happy with next time. -

Drew Flores from State of Grace just posted these (added to a Paco Excel sleeve):
To me, they're perfect. Very simple, but just right.

Thank you. Yes I know what you mean about his style. I think it will age well and still look nice in years to come.
Thanks, it took me a while to decide what to have but I'm really happy with my choice now.

This is where I'm up to with my back piece so far. Got a few more months to wait before I can get some more done.

Shop location has to be a factor in pricing. Rent in NYC is high. Some neighborhoods more expensive than others.

TaeTae got a reaction from Shaun1105 in First tattoo - Dragon Koi
Honestly my friend, I don't think you are going to be happy if you get a tattoo from your original choice. Put it down to lesson learned and forfeit your deposit if you have to. There is just no excuse these days for poor standard tattoos with so much talent around. Count yourself fortunate you came here before getting your tattoo started.
