A friend of mine got tattooed by Tiger John in Houston around 1989. He got a small portrait of James Brown on his shoulder blade. When John finished it, he said, "That's a damn good Little Richard, if I do say so myself." My buddy almost shit himself!

This has been doing the rounds for a few years now.
It's still funny as fuck.
Each time one of us at the shop does a Hendrix or Marley tattoo, someone else dares them to put the other's name.

A partner thread to the stares thread because of a little exchange the other day.
Walking down the street in my running clothes towards a pack of super loud teenagers you'd usually wanna smack around with a rolled up newspaper (or, around here, maybe worse..). Obviously just out of school, running around like little assholes.. always puts me on edge. Goddamn kids! But I walk by and they all quiet down and just kinda look at me and once I passed one kid goes, "Hey dude, we like yo tattoos!" No laughing, just stayed quiet. I said "Thanks buddy!" And I thought, man, I'm such an asshole for always thinking the worst of these kids, that was a really positive exchange.. even if it was them kinda staring at me.
I guess I woke up on the right side of the bed today! Anyone got good, positive stare stories? I know there are a few buried in the stares thread..

so Bowery Stan, Philadelphia Eddie, Eric Perfect, Krooked Ken and Phil Luck were up at Timmy Tatts shop the past 2 days.. I rushed over after work yesterday to try to get tattooed and was able to get Ken to do a little rose on my ankle before they were all done for the night.

He showed me it was way cool he also had a really cool one on his upper thigh from him that was just solid black.

You never leave the house without Aquaphor (or whatever you use to heal).

Hanky Panky posted this on his instagram a couple of days ago, it's a Sailor Jerry backpiece. Maybe this belongs in the old tattoo photos thread, but what the hell, that's still an amazing tattoo. I love the curve of the wing.

I tried to think of something I wanted tattooed on me that I didn't already have and couldn't come up with anything. Plus any idea I had would have paled in comparison to this design. Further proof of the importance of flash.
