  1. Oh, see, I'm so excited I even forgot to include the important bits of info...I'm planning to get a lynx head by Anthony Cole from Silver Needles in Southend. Was looking for a bit more of a neo-trad style but not too painterly, if that makes sense.
  2. Whoa, I did it and booked an appointment for my first tattoo! It's not until early November, but the inevitable 'what have I done' feeling is setting in already...I'll probably scrutinize instagram hourly to make sure I've made the right decision. I wished it wasn't soooo long!!
  3. Looks like they got their own dedicated IG now: The official instagram for Horitomo's Monmon Cats!! Not that I mind following all of Horitomo's stuff, but nice to have the cats in one place :-)
  4. Yeah, you mean those Japanese full sleeves without windbars, waves etc as background...? Saw them earlier, amazing!
  5. What a load of pathetic crap. I do believe it's made up though...seriously, even if this had happened for real (and I'm sure that's very well possible), why on earth would you write an article about it? Surprised to find such a super low quality article in the Guardian as well...
  6. Why not get a proper hair-do?
  7. Dragon and lion fighting for a scroll??
  8. That's what I've heard as well (mother-in-law is a dermatologist ). That said, the calculation doesn't seem to quite work anymore for high SPF. As far as I know, SPF 50 protects only a tiny bit longer than SPF 30 and is not really worth the money. What’s Wrong With High SPF
  9. How about a full eagle with a superman logo on its chest? Or just a colourful eagle (with superman logo colours of course), along those lines: Colourful kick-ass owl by Dalmiro Dalmont
  10. Lots of good input here already especially from @SeeSea. May I also throw in this idea: Girl's head with cheetah Also, have you tried googling or checking out Pinterest for cheetah tattoos? Just asking because I don't think it's really that unconventional...and it might show you more ways of incorporating the pattern into a more interesting tattoo. I'm aware that cheetah and jaguar are not quite the same. That said, they are very similar, just from different continents, aren't they?
  11. Actually, a bit more research brought up the website of the project (I must have been blind not to have found it before when googling...) English » Tattoo Portraits
  12. Found these little gems on vimeo and couldn't find anything about it here: " " "I think the videos are shot beautifully, especially the movement of panther and tiger in the back piece from no5. Would love to see more like that, does anyone know what happened to the first two? I assume they exist, unless someone is really bad at counting...
  13. Maybe it's just me, but when I try the search box I end up with an empty white area where the search results should appear... I'm using the latest Chrome on Mac. - - - Updated - - - Actually, sorry, it is just me. I keep forgetting that I'm using Ghostery to block unwanted trackers and stuff and it blocked the Google Search API in this case. I whitelisted it and it works like a treat now, thanks!
  14. How sweet! I actually saw some tattoo colouring books at the Tate Modern shop the other day and initially thought that it was a bit over the top to get little kids into tattoos already...but your story brings a totally new perspective to this. I'm curious to see how my two year old son is going to react to my first tattoo :-)
  15. And just came across this pretty cool one by Civ:
  16. Hey, don't worry about your English! I'm not a native english speaker myself but have been living in London for seven years now. I was pretty much like you in the beginning...I triple checked every email I wrote, got people to proof-read my stuff etc....but I came to realise that nobody gives a sh*t really. As much as one is expected to know English, people don't care how perfect it is as long as they can understand you. There will always be room for improvement and it's good to learn, but don't stress out. The best thing you can do is use the language (this forum is certainly a good place ;-)) and go to the pub, hehe...
  17. I think this is quite sweet (by Andrea Giulimondi):
  18. I believe San Francisco is not a bad place for finding tattooers either and yet, you seem to have decided to travel for yours. I'm finding that on one hand London has almost too many good ones but on the other hand I'm looking at a lot of other stuff too to see who I really want to go with...Europe is small ;-)
  19. Wow, that's already looking very nice! I'm still working on getting my first one, but I'm sure I'd be well happy if it turned out as great as this!
  20. I agree with @growltiger. I don't have tattoos on my belly, so no experience here, but did have a baby and didn't get any stretch marks. The belly has a somewhat different shape than before now but to be honest I'm not doing much exercise and I'm not that young anymore, all these things may play into it. Under the bottom line, you don't know in which way your body is going to change but the tattoo would get stretched for sure, so keep that in mind ;-)
  21. I believe 'Baby Wee-wee' might count as a bizzaro product, a doll that wees into your face: Can't imagine this has ever sold really.
  22. Alright, I see, thanks for the clarification! That makes sense to me, especially objections towards purely white tattoos ;-)
  23. So, looking at actual tattoos of the tattoed cats I noticed that most (all?) of them seem to have quite a bit of white ink in them....so far my understanding has been that white ink was a bit of a no-no due to quick discolouring/fading... Am I mistaken or blind perhaps? Or do we not care in this case because the cats a just too cool (which they are of course)...? Sorry if this is a dumb question, still trying to learn... Example:
  24. Ooops, you're right, I double-checked the convention's instagram feed and found him...how could I have missed that?? Sweet! The forum will need to be renamed to monmoncattattoo.com then :)
  25. Oh, the monmon cats are great! I love cats but hate that most pictures, drawings, tattoos etc just reduce them to being terribly cute. These are cool though! Would it be unreasonable to hope for Horitomo to come to the London Tattoo Convention...?
