Please help me evaluate this artist!

This artist is at a highly prestigious shop, but she's only been tattooing for 2 years, which makes me slightly nervous for my first tattoo. I like her work aesthetically, but since I've never been tattooed before I don't know if the work is done with technical quality. I would want something minimalist in black/grey, so I'm especially interested in whether the line work is ok. Thanks so much!

Not bad but nothing special IMO. Why her if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for the input.  I'm wondering about her because I was recommended this shop, and from the website she seemed like the artist who does work similar to the style I want.  I appreciate your help!

Perfectly average trendy stuff, imo. I noticed in some of her circular or diamond shaped tattoos, her lines got pretty bumpy. And overall she's not quite as bold with her choices as I normally like my tattoos to be (not bright enough color, not thick enough outlines, etc). You could do better, but you could also do a lot worse.

Are you in Phoenix? I honestly don't know of anyone in that area (who doesn't do traditional tattoos, anyway), but maybe someone else could suggest an artist.

Thank you for the wisdom.  Yes, I'm in Arizona, where (as you say) most of the focus seems to be on traditional, so it's hard to do research on the style I want.

Here's someone else I'm considering, because of the geometric (not sure if that's the right term) style black and grey: https://www.instagram.com/2anthony7/

Wisdom...me? :8_laughing:

Personally I like that guy a little more. His lines look smoother and straighter to me, and his blacks are darker. If you want to go more the geometric route, I think he might be a better choice. But either way, I think you would walk out with a solid tattoo from either artist you would be happy with. Just from a critical perspective, I think that guy is a tiny bit better overall.

Thank you again.. this is exactly the kind of advice I'm looking for :)

    • First let me say I've never seen exactly that related to tattoos. Second, I am NOT a doctor, so take any advice with a grain of salt and follow it at your own risk. I do have something like that which appears on my face from time to time. After multiple visits to the dermatologist, which didn't fix it, I finally came up with my own treatment. Whenever it flairs up, I just wipe the area down with plain rubbing alcohol three or four times a day to keep it dry. That usually works within a couple of days. Again, I'm not a doctor, but I don't think it would hurt anything for you to try that. Good Luck.
    • Hey, I have a serious problem! I got a tattoo in Manila 4 weeks ago. The artist is very well known and is one of the most renowed. 2 day after tattooing, small pimples began to form on my thight an many at the tattoo. 3 days later i had fever at night (just at night). After that, the pimpels began to spread very quickly all over the body. (back stomach etc..) I have now been to 3 doctors and everyone is at a loss. The blood work is fine and with no anomalies. Antibiotic ointment and cortisone ointment did not help. Xyzall allergy tablets did not help either. When i took cortisone tablets, 90% of the pimpels disappeared on the tattoo, but not on the other parts of the body. Now that I´am no longer taking cortisone, the pimpels on the tattoo are starting to grow back again very quick. On the other parts of the skin , the pimpels are sometimes lighter and sometimes stronger. This can be change hourly. They don´t hurt and hardy lever itch. Of course I´am afraid of a tattoo allergie. Has anyone already had this problem ? Does anyone know what that could be ? I add photos: 1) Photo directly after tattooing. 2) 2 Photos with the pimpels after a week 3) After 3 weeks while taking cortisone. 4) Photo of the body on the left.
