I think the piece you're missing is that you don't need to find anyone that can draw. You need to find the tattoo artist/shop you want to have do the piece and work with that person to draw it for you and ultimately tattoo it for you. It's what they do... The "someone" you find who can draw, might be great at drawing but will have no clue how to draw it to be tattooed. They wont know how it needs to flow or lend itself to the particular spot you want it tattooed on your body. So first, find the tattoo artist/shop...then go talk to them in person and they'll work it out with you.
Do you already have a shop in mind? If not, I'm sure someone can give you a few suggestions if you tell us where you're located. Good luck.

Congrats, @beez. That is truly awesome.
Here's an awesome thing I did last week: held this guy for the first time.
He's pretty chill, and his big sister is already infatuated with him--for now. :)

Thank you! :)
Well, I think you should. I was worried about the same thing and the good people here at LST pushed me in the right direction. I'm really glad I did it!

Lucky Strike Tattoo in Edmonton, AB hosted their annual summer slam party this weekend !!
It was a super fun time. Lots of tattoo show n tell, good tattoo talks with fellow collectors, jello shooters, moonshine, parking lot burnouts, picture machine flash jokes and got drunk with some new buds. I hadn't even cracked my first beer (4pm) and Scotty's like "it's a friggin tattoo shop take your shirts off".
Got to check out some wicked tattoos in the flesh...Lucas Ford fudo backpiece, Steve Moore backpiece, a bunch of Steve Batt tattoos, a Steve Byrne ROA in progress backpiece (!), Bailey Robinson, Koeplinger, OllieXXX, Smilin' Dave and of course lots of fresh and aged tattoos from the Lucky Strike cats of new and old (Sam Sheinin, Bobby Tripp, Miles Kanne, Scott Rusnak, Brent Smith, Chris Iwaniuk, Myke, Julie).
Anyway, got this super dope photo of Scott Rusnak and some fellow clients in the bodysuit club.
from L-R ... Steve(?), Scott Rusnak, Derek, myself. Too bad we didn't get a backside shot...
IG @ scottrusnak one of the most underrated young tattooers in Western Canada...he does really bright and vivid Trevino-esque Japanese style tattoos with attention to the details. Highly recommend him.
IG @ lucky_strike_tattoo great local shop, quality artists and a really fun place to hang.
some bongsau facts...30% of my tattoos have been completed at Lucky Strike, 40% if you include the Electric Tattoo days from 10 years ago!

just got back from turks and caicos I have a few pictures on my instagram panthersandeagles. I had a great time and on a bike ride met some cool belongers and actually bought a painting from a fellow named Alexis st John. Such a nice humble guy trying to provide for his family but also has dreams of teaching others

Got a consult booked with Theo Mindell for demon head+girl head rib panel in July and just booked in with Steve Byrne for the SFO Hyatt Convention in October. The coming months are going to be fun.

Scott R got a reaction from bongsau in Money is a vulgar topic, but...
Money topic is understandably a factor in getting tattooed but its also the root of people making questionable decisions when deciding on who to do a tattoo.
My personal take is tattooing is cool as fuck and I want to support people Who I feel are doing really cool shit that I get to see or have. I am paying for a service yes but I also view it as my tiny little part to allow them to continue to do awesomeness. I personally have never talked about prices or budgets before a tattoo. If the tattooer didnt mention money during scheduling I guestimate and have always left a tip and had a few bucks in my pocket.
I see people all the time comparing hourly rates or by the piece prices but do not factor in time it will take or quality of the work put out by the different tattooers.
