holier than thou.they want you to know that thier better than you.

I dont understand why so many straightedge people brag about it and get it tattooed on them?

Like, alot of people are techinically "straightedge" but they dont make it a big deal

  2. I think the general public dont think twice about lumping them together, Its us, the purists, that dont care for the association, I sort of feel sorry for every piercer I have worked around, I probably treated them like second class. Oh well, I too am a dick, apparently.

I think the only issue I would see with getting a piercing, (theoretically) is generally the tattoo shops that do piercings out here are places I wouldn't get tattooed and with having zero knowledge of piercing don't think I could trust their expertise on the matter. I know there used to be a few places that just did piercings but they have since expanded to start doing tattoos which kind of rubs people the wrong way because people feel that tattooing is just an afterthought and really its a money issue not a quality issue. There are top tattoo shops across the country, world whatever that do piercing (Chicago Tattoo and NY ADORNED, come to my mind first) but maybe it's just different on the west coast.

I also am not trying to be a dick, and I often wonder about the dynamic of this relationship and how people feel, but just never really knew how to word it and still not sure if I can fully explain it or understand it myself.

But I think people should do what they want whether it is piercing or tattoos,or whatever they think up next.

  3. grow thick skin........figuratively.....

I am tired of hearing this question and I am barely tattooed. anytime one of my TWO tattoos show, it is always the same question. How much it cost and what does it mean. The price part I answer truthfully, they always get sticker shock though. And always the reply is, "Oh my boy did mine for 20 bucks, you should hit him up" as they show me the most messed up cheetah tattoo I have ever seen.

Then they go into this big long tirade about the fact tattoos are supposed to have meaning. "Blah blah blah my tattoo means x, y, z, and for my dead parakeet when I was three and my abandonment issues and how I have become stronger as a person."

Then they stop and ask me if tattoos really hurt, because they have all these tattoos planned but are afraid it will hurt, and they dont like pain!

it gets old, quick. and I only have 2 tattoos. How do you more covered people deal with this kind of bs? I am assuming you get it alot more than I do but honestly, I would feel like punching people if I had way more tattoos to be demanded on the spot to explain, give the cost, then listen to other people's future tattoo plans.

A quick aside, I like telling people how much my tattoos cost, because the ones who want them but hate to pay, it makes them reconsider really getting a tattoo.

  4. ahhhh...he was on foothill,thx

I have 9 tattoos from Phil I got in the 80s. I lived around the corner from his studio in Hayward California. Actually he did my first one, and I had to go back for more! he colored my left arm and chest, but my favorites are the blackwork on my right arm. Hes a master of blackwork. I also have work from several of his protégés.
  5. start a review thread , ....?

About 8months ago I went livit ink tattoo in Rio Rancho NM, the dude totally tried to use the art of seduction by Robert Greene and a tattoo gun to get me to sleep with him. Was an ass to my husband and wouldn't let him sit next to me. Told me my tattoo was original art and then found it three months later on the web.

This creep is now under Morning Star Tattoo o in Rio Rancho NM. Right in the same building as turtle mountain brewery. He had to move cause he wasn't paying his bills.do not go here for your next tattoo you will regret it

  6. but he wants a copy machine!!..........hehehe......I love it when they reach over the counter to try and help me draw, after they have stated that they cant draw.

An in-person consultation will make that happen, and you will probably be more excited with the resulting design if you simply give the basic idea to your artist and let them run with it. Don't try to micro-manage how they draw it.

We will be disappointed if you don't use one of the recommended artists we listed!

  7. slooowwww.....Move to major city first, easier to get good ones......hehehehe

    That would be awesome!

  8. hey there, Rio Rancho isnt very far from Albequerque.....OH YOU KNOW THAT CITY I CANT SPELL. There are a lot of good tattooers there. Research , Rio Rancho is pretty small.Ive been stuck there.

The studio i got this done at was called Livit Ink Tattoo in Rio Rancho NM done by a Chuck Palmer. he had to Relocate cause he wasn't paying his rent. I live just live a couple of blocks away. And I'm more happy with the tattoo than the experience. Iam planning to get some work done on it. Cause it has some spots that look really fucked up.

As awesome as it could have for someone who has an expired guest license that hasn't been renewed in a year and he also taught himself so that's really comforting

  9. I never see Diamond Club referals, excellent....

If I were going to San Francisco I would get tattooed at Blackheart, but if you are looking for a small Japanese tattoo I would go to Diamond Club or over to State of Grace and see Horitomo.
  10. I havent seen teen angel since I was a kid, is it still produced.?

    Hi,

Glad I came across this website, Instagram and Last Sparrow is just about it for me. I'm from Dallas and currently working at Lucky's Tattoo in Deep Ellum. I have been tattooing close to 6 six years and illustration for 3 years. Also, I received a Associate in Graphic Design at the Art Institute, love to illustration on my down time. Painting, drawing, and tattooing is just about all I do, other than trying to catch a show and grabbing a beer. My biggest influences are Albrecht Durer, Teen Angels Zine, Heavy Metal, Tim Hendricks, Jack Rudy, and Tim Lehi. I would like to travel more and have opportunities to do guest spots around the country. I hope being here I can get in touch with cool, genuine people.

    Just another one,

    Juan Carlos Carvajal

  11. the Cliff House.....China beach.....Twin Peaks.....

bringing this one back had a few questions I didnt find answers to while searching.

good place to sit back and hear the ocean preferably scenic views?

any must do street food downtown?

  12. didnt i notice that you posted in another thread, that you didnt have any tattoos but wanted a sleeve? You really should learn to swim before diving into the deep end.
