I love how many times he makes it a point to say he has "no rules." Invariably, that's a sign someone's trying way too hard.

@Brock Varty I was trying to convey the accomplishment as something less tangible than a corvette. Anyone can buy a corvette, anyone can get a hand tattoo, but not everyone can create truly become a self made man and not just buy the t shirt that says they are. That is the lifestyle I am speaking of. Hand a neck tattoos should say "fuck the world" not "welcome to hot topic".

Of the dozen sessions I've had on my back, the bookends were the worst--the first because it ran long and the last because my mental and physical state was shit. The ten in between don't stick out as being all that bad. Not to say I wasn't angry at the conclusion of a few. I tend to get irritated the longer I'm prodded with needles.

If you don't like pain, by all means, go for a backpiece. Total cakewalk. :)

I think I mentioned somewhere once that getting my butt worked on wasn't all that bad, well...I change my mind. That's over the top awful. Shading isn't bad, but having it outlined is horrible. Previously the artist outlined and shaded my right side for my backpiece, now she's starting on the left. This time I was squirming through the whole process. My body would just twitch involuntarily. That said it'll be nice when it's finished. It's odd walking around knowing you've one bum cheek completely covered in black and the other pale as the full moon ;-)

I'm healing up from session 11 on my back, courtesy of Jay Cavna. Been waiting a year now to get that boar's head colored in and finally it happened. The end's in sight; should have the whole thing wrapped up by Xmas time.

I have a small snake getting stabbed with a dagger worked into my Mary piece. My big snake is going to be in my battle royale on my back- now I just have to decide who's going to do it.
As far as execution, I like O'Donnell's execution, but I'm also feeling the folky patterns in BH Robinson's snakes- maybe I can have both?

Jason Brooks can do a decent snake.

This is one of the most beautiful tattoo photos ever IMO , the tattoo is by Horitoshi I and the photo from Takagi Akimitsu's Tattooed Ladies but also features in other Japanese tattoo photo books .

I didn't have a problem putting lotion ony my back piece because I didn't put a single drop on at all. I juat washed it in the shower like normal and let my body do it's thing. Still one of the best healed tattoos I've ever had.
