Thank you!! We actually just finished an unplanned second day of color. I would've posted something yesterday, but I figured I'd wait for today. Suppose I oughta crosspost it to the Lowdown, but here you go:

To be honest, the pictures just don't do the actual colors any justice at all...they get yellowed out. The blue with the red/orange is so amazingly vibrant.

Personally, even though I'm totally wrecked right now, I'm so glad that we powered through it, because the absolute worst spots for me have been the upper back between my shoulderblades, and also just below the nape of my neck. And now they're done! Probably worth the shocky-tattoo-flu feeling I'll have for a few hours tonight. I'll be right as rain again tomorrow, though. :)

    Here frands:
Feeling pretty tattoo-flu-y, but I have a steak on the way, and then it's time to drink every water and sleep every sleep. So happy that we finished the areas that were the most painful for me during lining, though.

    Couldn't be happier.

Depends on the tattoo, I guess. A skirt would not have worked for me at any of my sessions. When we're working the upper body (waist up) it's alright to wear pants and then roll them down, but anything below that means ditching the pants and undies. And the day we lined my back (neck to knees), I had to be completely naked ALL DAY.

Eventually I stopped being able to have feelings about it because I was having too many feelings about the lining going on (mostly 'ow ow ow ow, okay that's better, that's actually not so b--OH MY GOD WHAT FRESH HELL' etc.) for there to be room for anything else. Hahaha.

Most shops have screens as far as I can tell, anyway.

Sure if she's willing to go up to the elbow. I don't know why I keep replying. Ask your tattooer.

Man, with the start of the school year, coaching xc, training for a marathon, and a million other things, I've been MIA for a bit. So many awesome tattoos in here. From the Noble frog and the Nava spider, to the awesome Japanese work from Brooks and a few others, I'm loving so much awesome stuff. That Chris Stuart chest eagle. That Koeplinger underarm blast. That firey girl head. Good lord. People are killing it.
I haven't posted much in this thread in forever. In the last 15 months or so, I've gotten my knees done (well, the left is started) by Grez, as well as a few pieces on my thighs. Once I get that knee finished, I'm going to update the squidpants thread and throw some of them in here.

Your answer is contained above. Ask your tattooer. Otherwise, I dunno. An eight ball? An anvil? Choices may be limited somewhat.

Where is that on the body? A coverup has to be at least 2x the size. Not sure if the phoenix can be reworked. All good questions for her tattooer.

    Hey folks,
Okay, so it took a while, but I'm going to try to get this off the ground come November 1.
I'm thinking themes, like several of you suggested (Examples: Japanese back piece, daggers, girl heads, fine line b&g etc). How about "fillers" for our first contest. That sound cool?
The following is my suggestion for new rules. Please speak up if you have any suggestions for changes.
The tattoo picture that gets posted in this thread for "Month/Year" will be submitted for polling of Last Sparrow's Best "(INSERT THEME)" tattoo. This is all in good spirit and fun of course. The submission process opens on the first of the month and ends on the 20th of the month. After that there will be an open poll for one week, which will close on the 27th, and the tattoo with the most votes wins.
Your tattoo picture must be posted in this thread (both tattooers and tattoo customers can win) in order to qualify.
Include with your photo/post...tattoo artist name & tattoo shop. You MUST be the one who has the tattoo or did the tattoo. It MUST be a finished tattoo It must fit the theme of the contest (obviously)

Hello again thread. Here's my latest tattoo done yesterday at a convention by Radu Rusu.
I really love the look of b&g tattoos and can't wait for this one to heal. I really like it :)

I'm really not sure why you continue to post asking for advice since you obviously don't ever follow it and do what you want to do anyway. Many experienced people have offered you good advice, you state your intention to follow it and within days post again with something that shows you just ignored the advice. At this point, it almost seems like a game. Why waste people's time?
I hope you have a great vacation and wish you luck with your tattoo journey. But, I'm done responding to your posts.

Got 4 tattoos recently. Posting here for info for other people healing with derm and for myself in the future.
Once the tattoos were completed, instead of using Saniderm over night like I normally do, I just used the meat bandages the tattoos gave me. I realized having to take off saniderm after 24 hours and then putting on the final sheet for 5 days really irritated the tattoo.
The next morning I took off the meat bandages, washed them real good with unscented soap, let them air dry for 5 or 10 minutes and applied the saniderm.
To test out how long is best, I left 2 on for 5 days, and the other 2 on for 6 days, counting the day I first put the saniderm on. I always had a problem where the derm would rip off flakes prematurely and either bleed or make them scab, but this didnt happen much at all. The only one that had some rough spots was the giesha on my forearm, which I left on for 5 days. Not sure why. Might have to do with the fact it weeped allot and hardened up. Every part that was having trouble with after the initial derm removal I just put a tiny patch of derm on to keep it from scabbing and they healed up just fine. The Fudo cat on my knee healed PERFECTLY, which I left on for 6 days. Zero bleeding or scabbing. It also had zero fluid buildup, which might have helped.
From now on Im going to do the meat bandage over night, saniderm for six days after that, and small patches on parts that didnt heal well.

Thanks @Charles.M and @mtlsam. Great suggestion.
It strikes me that ladies have an advantage over men in this regard as they can wear skirts which would provide a lot of flexibility in coverage and access.
And I love the statement "A dude with his junk in a sock is completely harmless looking (not tough at all... lol)."

Somewhere in this mega thread, or the other mega backpiece thread there is talk of a "fudoshi" basically a long strip of fabric cleverly wrapped around the waist and legs to cover up Japanese style. Search for it and you'll find it.
Otherwise I saw a fellow getting his whole back and cheeks done at the Montreal convention this year, as public a space as can be. He had a sock and a paper towel draped over the area. Was good enough for him.
People at the shop will laugh it off or at worst be scandelized and have a great story to tell with their new infinity symbols tattoo.

I agree with  mtlsam Get a new white sock and put your junk in there just before you start your session (in the bathroom), that way when you have to drop your drawers, you are covered where people will be concerned about modesty. I think people will give you a pass on a not tight but. A dude with his junk in a sock is completely harmless looking (not tough at all... lol). This technique is more common than you think, I did it when getting work on my full back... it works.
