I don't think I've ever had a tattoo that looked that shiny and I've got well over 300 hours in the tattoo chair over the last 10 years. Regardless though, those bumps look like water blisters which come from too much moisture. Good luck.
-
You get used to it. 🙂

All the more reason to get an experienced artist. I got my first tattoo at 50, I'm 64 now and finishing up a body suit. Keep hydrated and use cocoa butter on your skin regularly to keep it healthy.

You have way too much lotion on. It looks like it's swimming. Let it dry heal for a few weeks. You are drowning that tattoo. You only need a tiny bit of lotion, too little is better than too much.

I agree with @oboogie - I wouldn't get any more tattoos. You know laser removal is really laser fading right? The tattoo is never really gone. And I'm not sure where you get the idea that hand tattoos fade. Certainly not more than any other tattoos. I'm not pointing that out to scare you, but you need to be realistic about what your options are. You've got the tattoo; have a Xanax, or a drink (or three), or a toke, and relax.

Virtual Tattoo Convention - March 5th
Hogrider replied to Laura.Schaack's topic in LST Get Togethers & Tattoo Conventions
Nobody cares about your shitty snake oil that doesn’t work anyway. -
I can't seem to edit. For clarification, for the first three days, I wash it and change the wrap two or three times a day.

If it don't ooze, you can snooze. If it's not hot, red, and oozing, you're almost certainly fine. Looks normal to me. Throw out the Hustle butter, the only thing being hustled is you. I've healed hundreds of hours of work with store brand Cocoa butter. Not need for special tattoo nonsense. I've never used saniderm either. Just A&D ointment wrapped in saran wrap for the first three days, then a little cocoa butter thereafter.
-
As @oboogie said - stop using saniderm.

Tattoos take 4-8 weeks to heal. Nothing stands out as an issue with that tattoo.
-
You can expect to see what it looks like. Tattoos take 4-8 weeks to heal. With a bad scab maybe longer. There is NO way to predict the future. Get it touched up if necessary.

Blotchy red spots in black tattoo, don't know what's going on

Tattoos take 4-8 weeks to heal. Given you lost a big, thick scab, it could be longer. Let it heal, see how it looks, get it touched up if necessary. -
I'm really worried about my new tattoo and it's driving me mad
Hogrider replied to WorriedinLondon's topic in Initiation
Holy shit! Calm down. First, don't ever get a tattoo again, you don't have the temperament. Second, your doctor doesn't know what he's talking about. The number of documented tattoo allergies is EXTREMELY small. You got a big honking tattoo on thin, delicate skin - it's going to hurt. Three days isn't even beginning to heal; it takes 6-8 weeks to heal a tattoo. Forget all your creams and potions and after care kits and hocus pocus - you don't need ANY of that to heal a tattoo. I've healed well over 200 hours of tattoos using nothing but A&D ointment for three days and cocoa butter after. Just a little - too much is worse than none at all. Have a drink, or a toke, or a xanax and relax. Check back in 8 weeks. -
In this thread, we commiserate about healing our fresh tattoos.

I wouldn't worry. It's really hard to screw up the healing process. The hardest thing is wrapping your head around how LITTLE we have to use. -

99.9999% of the time cause by using too much lotion. Also, you don't need any special tattoo after care products. I've healed almost all of my work using the A&D until it starts to peel and then switching to cocoa butter. The rest is just a waste of money. -
Feedback on first session of a colored realistic tattoo.
Hogrider replied to blindsniper's topic in Initiation
Your skin doesn't look that dark. I'd go for a brighter color for more contrast. -

I’m not a tattoo artist, but given how small that is, I wouldn’t let him start working on it again in less than a month. As to the colors, you can’t judge a half done, unhealed tattoo. I doubt it will ever be as vibrant as that pic. -

I’d recommend uploading the pics. I don’t have an Imgur account and can’t see them. Still leaking plasma after a week isn’t normal, not that I’ve ever heard. Being in pain after a week happens, especially on thin skin. I’m going through that myself right now. I usually wait a month between tattoos on the same skin. -
First, I wouldn't do anything until you've had it for several months. I've seen a lot of tattoos made MUCH worse because people were in a hurry to "fix" them. Second, why would you get a tattoo from someone without much experience? It's usually a recipe for dissatisfaction. Having said that, I like it and think it looks good. Lots of people have tattoo regret. The vast majority get over it. Wear that tattoo proudly.

I just got my first tattoo and i feel extremely regret
Hogrider replied to DDSEE's topic in Initiation
Do a search on tattoo regret. It's very common and usually goes away. I don't really understand it because I've never had it. I used to notice my tattoos all the time, now I hardly think about them. I'd feel very weird if they were somehow to all be removed. As @oboogie pointed out, laser removal isn't a magic bullet. It will never look the same again. -
Guys am i allergic to yellow ink? (photos inside)
Hogrider replied to Asthma Inhaler Jim's topic in Tattoo Advice
Tattoos take 4 - 8 weeks to heal. No matter how you ask the question, or what you ask, you won't know what it is going to look like until then. I'd give it another month. And no, that's not an ink allergy. Actually ink allergies are very rare.
