  1. @Dan S The old Stairmaster machines used to fill me with dread , you don't see em much any more and if you do they're always covered in dust . I believe they were a popular device for training the millitary elite forces .

    Yeah, oldies but baddies!

If you never saw a VersaClimber, it's a real trip...you can set it on "wuss" and hardly break a sweat, or you can dial it up to "ironman"...not fun, but you do a good, hard, half-hour on one, you definintely get the burn.

  2. So, used to lift about every day, do a different area each day, and work out around two hours a day at the dojang, besides. Never went for bulk, I'm 6'2 and never got over 205 when I was seriously into it. Mostly free-weights, but used a VersaClimber as well for aerobic conditioning...nasty machine! I do some lifting yet, but not anything serious, some upper-body stuff to keep my hand in.

I know there are a few posters here that are doing some form of martial arts, and I gots to say, I believe that to be the absolute best all-around workout there is. ALL-AROUND. I realize that for those who are into body-sculpting and such, the arts just won't get it, but for flexibility, speed, strength, and cardio, you can't beat 'em.

Plus, you get to kick people in the head, and that's a HUGE stress-reliever.

  3. This is only a suggestion, and I'm conscious that the people behind LST have a vision for it that includes it being open and welcoming, but FWIW:-

If mods observe a pattern of one-line posting along the lines of what we're talking about, what about a policy of issuing a warning (once) via PM and then applying a ban if the behaviour persists?

    Very interesting!

Actually, looking at some recent threads... Maybe issuing a warning could be skipped in some flagrant cases.

I'm thinking they vacuum up in here with a Hoover Trollcatcher every morning...

  4. Does the Coleman torso have more likes than any other tattoo ever on this board? It's very well deserved if so.

64 and counting! I do believe that's durn near double the record, but however many, it is great to see all the outstanding work being gottten and displayed here! Man, the dedication behind a tattoo such as PHickey's is evident and incredible!

Thanks to ALL the people who shared their works this month, and to our hosts...truly is a helluva collection.

  5. Thank you for the help. This will be my last tattoo so I want it to look the best it can. I wish I could go back in time and never have got the laser, and then I wouldn't be having this problem.

Thank you also for the comment about my doggy mousepad. I am a huge animal lover. :)

Ahhhhhhh...never say never! Hear you are, looking around LST, saying it's your last tattoo, and next year this time you'll be entering that sweet full-backpiece in the contest!

  6. The swelling should go down as it heals, as David sez, the best bet is to ignore it for a month and let it heal completely. Once it heals, you can get a real opiinion on what the deal is, and if it needs color, you can have it put in then. That would be my GUESS. But as David pointed out, you just can't tell from a pic online. Let it heal, talk to a tattooer!

  7. Wouldn't sweat it too much. Since you know it's there, yeah, it's the first thing you're gonna see, but it isn't all that noticeable. I'm a little puzzled as to why your tattooer apparently had difficultiy covering the scar tissue, unless they did and it's just the lighting in the pic highlighting the swelling. I have tattoos that are almost completely on scar tissue, and healed quite well. Also have cover-up work over old tattoos that were burned off and left some hella scarring, and that covered well.

I would suggest letting it heal entirely, and if you can still see it to the point where it bothers you, go to another reputable tattooer and have them evaluate it.

  8. If you are willing to fly to Midway through Southwest Chicago is much more reasonable. I don't think you should have any issue booking time with Nick Colella unless he has some travel obligations he doesn't book out very far and the rest of the guys at that shop put on a good tattoo as well. Craig puts on a really nice tattoo, If you get down here before end of February, make sure you get a tattoo from Jesse Bob at historic, he is moving back to Texas and his stuff is super cool. If you want to get booked in with Freddy I suggest you start hitting him up now, he can get pretty booked up.

If you are looking for shops to go to once you are down here, feel free to hit me up, i know all the spots.

CTC is easy to get to on public trans from Midway, as well...just don't leave the main drags.

  9. From what I understrand, the only way to treat the stones that are still in the kidney is certain medication and/or surgery. If they pass out of the kidney they can be lasered and broken up so they pass easier. I am able to control how many I pass very well by drinking a ton of water(about 1.5 gallons per day), no consuming much sodium, and no non-natural sugar.

A friend was treated using ultrasonic therapy to break them up, and it worked out well for him. Best of luck to you, I can only hope you find a way to get rid of them!

  10. I know this picture is terribly blurry, but is it me or does my chest look lopsided now?

    Snapshot_20121201_3-1_zpsc21163a4.jpg

The lady looks nice (when she is not so blurry), but now the other side just looks empty. but i dont know if i can commit to the other side having a lady head too, im still in school and never had a real job (excluding campaign work), so i dont want to get my chest all tattooed so young, but the lopsidedness is bothering me!

As Brock already said, quit tryina blame it on us, you KNOW yer gonna get another piece on the other side!

But give yourself and the people around you a bit of time to get used to the one you have, and the idea of you as a tattooed Lady.

    High School?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Damn, Girl, don't you have to shpw I.D. or sumpin to get in here???

  11. Muahaha...if only I was that lucky.

I have enough stones in both kidneys right now to pass them every day for the rest of my life. I have probably passed hundreds and luckily have only been to the hospital a couple times. My fear is that the stones all fuse together and my kidneys shut down...I don't know how likely that is, but scary all the same.

Whoa! Yeah, that's enough to scare the..bejeezus outta ya. Drink lots of vinegar? Is there some super-whiz-bang new treatment that you can take to clear 'em out, or is it something you'll be stuck with? Will keep a good thought for ya, hope that something can be done.

  12. So, this definitely doesn't have anything to do with tattoos, but I thought y'all might get a kick out of it.

This was Monday evening, around 18.30. The temp was like five degrees, an it was heading south to minus five Fahrenheit. Cold.

We had just finished dinner, and my oldest boy and his daughter and dogs were leaving to go home. he let his dogs out, and stopped to fire-up my car so it could warm-up. When he turned his head to do that, the dogs made book.

Now, the dogs. There are two, the older one is a dawg, maybe 75 pounds, short hair, curly tail, yellow looking thing, kinda resembles a dingo. He's a real nice dog, but has a screw loose about running away. When he puts his mind to it, he's fast as hell, and if he decides to go, you aren't going to catch him till he's ready to come home. The other one, the little fella, he's a boxer pup, maybe four months old and 35 pounds, skin n bones.

Anyhow, the dogs took off, and by the time my son noticed, they were out in the field already. My place is on the middle of about 500 acres of corn, so it's pretty dark at night.

We all got in separate cars and went out looking for them...no sightings, and really, no chance of coming across them except by sheer luck. All of our spotlights were burned-out, batteries cashed, and the cars weren't digging the temperature. My oldest had walked our road, about two miles, both ways a few times, and saw nothing. About 24.00 we packed it in, and hoping that at least the little guy might be holed-up in a barn somewhere, went home.

06.00 Tuesday my oldest gets a call from a Lady, asks if he belongs to a couple of dogs. Yes he do. She was driving up from Illinois to go to work, and when she got to the state line, she noticed sommething odd in a deep ditch. Stopped, backed-up to it, and saw it was two dogs curled up together in the bottom of the ditch. Couldn't tell if they were dead or alive, but she went down and check on them. When she got close, the older guy got up an made unfriendly noises at her, but when the dogs saw the door to her truck was open and the motor running, they decided maybe it would be better to bite her AFTER they got warmed up.

Sums it up. She delivered them to my son who had been busy trying to resign himself to them being dead...but was sure 'nuff glad they weren't. They spent the next day racked-out together in my office, the old fella is a bit TOO old for that kind of thing. Thought this was decent...
