As mentioned before, I'd still be interesting in seein some pictures man. If you want I can give you my email address in case you don't want to post them up. I'll keep them strictly for personal reference. I've been trying to compile some jailhouse stuff. It'd be nice to see some from different places.
I've still got one piece of jailhouse, but the rest I covered. I have been going through my pix, and I have some picked out I may post, but I'm going to have to do a lot of cropping and blacking-out. Now, none of these are pix of the tattoos, they are, mostly, pictures of brothers representing, some in prison, some on the street, and you can see tattoos. Some clearly, some not so clearly. If that would be of interest, I'll get some up, but if you really want to see the tattooing plainly, most of them won't interest you.
I tattooed a purple daisy on the lower calf of a fairly notorious sniper/killer from back in the early seventies...

I guess I'll go first, but I already have a feeling that I'll be going up against some really tough competition this month.
Nick Colella formerly of Chicago Tattoo Co., currently going rogue until he makes an announcement about whatever he has in the works:
Nick's not really going rogue, he's in the midst of setting-up his new shop...but you for-real got a hella souvenir of CTC there! REally something to brag about, Heathenist!

My main Brother is going back inside at the end of the month, I won't see him again for, looks like, seven years. Most of his work is jailhouse, and he's pretty well covered. What isn't jailhouse is representing from back in the day.
Easy to disrespect someone online.

Finally got some new stuff.

Sorry about the size, I have no idea how to fix it though.
Saw that on IG, wondered if anyone I "knew" had gotten it...very, very kool!

It is neat stuff-hooked-up with Nick to put on one of the old flash pieces here shortly.
That arcade at 500 S. State is the first place I ever saw real tattooing done-neat stuff.
Don't follow IG, so I don't know about his accounts, but I know that Nick got hassled my FaceBook for having too many followers because of the tattoo business, he had to start another "commercial" page for Great Lakes.
Either way, it's good to see people appreciating Nick's work, the man is a trip.

Nick has been running under Great Lakes Tattoo for some years now, he's got his Facebook account under that as well.

Sure am glad I didn't waste any money buying up FRKN SKIDLOADS of ammo back before the first selection of O,Bummer!

It was interesting, Else. Don't know that I'd get tattooed at a convention, but it was interesting!
TOO DAMN CROWDED!!!
I gotta say the people attending worked really hard at being polite, and I didn't see or hear of a single testy exchange. That said, the promoters need to work with the venue to get a little more room. The aisles were just too damn crowded, no way around it. If you stopped to look at something, or to talk to someone, bang-instant traffic jam.
Ah well. IT was a trip, and I did see quite a bit of interesting work there.

Hey, i got a new tattoo about 3 weeks ago and in the last 2 days it has come out in sore, itchy red bumps on the grey shaded areas only. I have found alot of articles about Mycobacterium Infections being caused by contaminated inks and am now really worried.
Please excuse the quality of these images as i took them on my phone and dont have another camera available to take them with. The red areas are actually all individual red bumps (they kind of look like red blisters.)
Does anyone have any experience with this or any idea what it could be?
Thanks
Looks like a serious case of over-lotion. Let that thing dry out completely and see where it goes. Pretty doubtful you've got a bizarre infection, but hey-it could hapen! If it really worries you, go to a dermatologist.

I like tattoos beacuse, well because I like tattoos.
Fuck all worrying about culture and trends and who has what. I get what I like and that's that.
Just me.
And the "before and after" pic above, I believe there is a whole thread devoted to that in here somewhere, and there was some quesiton about it's provenance.
-
She was nagging.
Someone told her to get bent.
The rest is history.
I always thought it came from CTC, but hey, I've been wrong before.
-
CTC has posted a "help-wanted" on Instagram and their FB page for tattooers with five years experience.
-
Personally, I wouldn't get any serious work done at a convention, but hey, a chance to see what's what, and to spend a day soaking up general tattooism? Can't miss it.

And yet no one hates on the companies that took advantage of a guy that is bipolar, and trying to survive in a shit economy.
AMEN!

Hi!

Hi Joana, and welcome to LST. Since you're an Alaskan, this should probably be your new favorite shop...
Enjoy the boards, and let's get those pictures up!

I got a regular circuit, depending on what I feel like, but mostly I stcik with either Manny's or pho, or if I wanna get radical, I'll go down to Taylor Street for Guinea.
-
Chicago Tattoo Arts Convention is this coming Friday/Saturday/Sunday, anyone expecting to head in for that???
-
Yeah Manny's is great, love that place. The only thing is I got the Hot Doug's logo tattooed on me so I can get free hot dogs for life, so it's a shame not to cash that in the couple times a year I am in town.
Oh hell yes! Free grub, how can you refuse!!!
