  1. I've had a very respected tattooist tell me (and not because I was asking for one) that his opinion was that hand and neck tattoos should only be done on other tattooists. He won't do them on the general public.
  2. This^ Being pretty and having the ability to act does not mean that you can or do appreciate art. Either that or I also don't get the "it's supposed to look bad" thing . . .
  3. at least Jesse had the integrity to admit and be a bit embarassed by the fact that he didn't study up more on other styles before he joined this motley crew. - - - Updated - - - at least Jesse had the integrity to admit and be a bit embarassed by the fact that he didn't study up more on other styles before he joined this motley crew.
  4. I hear he works quick. You must be getting something major done!
  5. There ARE bad people in every profession. The big differance with bad people being in the cop profession is that good people end up in jail, not just stuck with a bad education, bad service or bad tattoo. Bad cops are generally people who are insufficient at everything else and can only live on the rush that being "powerfull" can provide them. Sad for them and sad for us, too.
  6. Peter Lagergren lousy picture, but great head/mouth. Nice eagle, too.
  7. Actually, this and another laser thread have inspired me to pursue a larger back piece. My 1st laser session is this afternoon, so after 4-5 sessions I'm planning on some new work in 2014. I'll start a new thread with before, during and after pictures in the Spring. Thanks.
  8. Here ya go . . . Jon Mesa will be there, too!
  9. Well, congradulations on that!
  10. Wow. He is especially good for the shop being in such a small city. Nice score.
  11. Regarding flow, the same artist will be doing it? If yes, then yes - it should flow nicely.

    hello

post up some of your work!
  13. fully agree. hoppier pale ales = a well balanced ipa in most cases. Never had a Dale's though. I'll have to look for it.
  14. @Graeme = Spicy pizza with a balanced IPA. :)
  15. [quote name=Graeme;50308According to the handy beer and food pairing guide I have on my desk here' date=' it goes very nicely with pear fritters. [/quote] now why didn't I think of that . . . ?
  16. Excellent discussion here. @Stewart Robson, I'm now curious about to what degree your observation would apply. While I generally wouldn't give a damn about what just anyone might think about what tattoo work I might get done - I would want the artwork I display to be at least respected inside of the collector's/artist's eyes. If or when I can line up a 1400 mile (one-way) journey and get in with Hooper I'd certainly love to, but if (or once) done I'd like to get a stand-alone piece done by him for sure. However in my eyes this "style" of work would also be an excellent filler method, and I wouldn't be surprised if one or all of the big dogs didn't want to take the time for undertaking such a chore - aside from the fact that the cost for travelling to NYC or SF to get filler tattoos would be astronomical. Would small-scale "copying" that style by another tattooist for such a purpose still be disrespectful to the originators?
  17. The right artist is a concern. A hack will say "no problem". A mid-level will voice his concerns. A high-quality might do either. A lot will depend on how well you can sit for a tender area tattoo. And it's your 1st . . . ??!!
