Watched it a couple weeks ago, it's great! He and his family are extremely approachable. I was introduced to him by Kurt who has sleeves/back/thighs done by Filip. Was great getting to talk to him, and it was interesting to see the amount of respect and admiration he garnered from other artists at the convention. One artist I spoke to said they were too nervous to go talk to him!

@Dennis Kaname's Women in Tattoo is INCREDIBLE and far outstrips what I was expecting when I ordered it. I saw in the thread that you also recently received it. Big smiles over here!
I also have Shienrenjo and Tattooed Beauties. I am pleased with my Kaname collection so far :).

Finally scored a copy of Ozuma Kaname's long out of print "Women in Tattoo" book. I've been drooling over it ever since I saw it in Kurt Wiscombe's shop 6 years ago! Can't wait for it to come in!

This photo of a (very) young Filip is amazing on a few levels. First and foremost, he has a pretty good amount of work on him for a child. And secondly, how badass is that reaper he's putting on?

Thanks for sharing that. I met and talked briefly with Filip about a year and a half ago at the Montreal convention when he was doing one-session, four to five hour backpieces with Kurt Wiscombe. He was very friendly, down to earth, and despite having spent pretty much literally his entire life around tattoos, clearly absolutely loves tattoos and tattooing and still sees all the magic there. He's a real inspiration.

Awesome, I know a few people going to school down in that area. I'm up in Northern Ontario near Thunder Bay!

I try to get out there every 3 years or so. Heading there later this year, hopefully Sept or October. I live in Waterloo region. :)

Thanks! I try to head out there every year, though traveling that way is pricey! The food, people, scenery, atmosphere is so unique. I plan on moving out that way when I'm all said and done with school! Where in Ontario are you located?

My good friend got me 'Bodies of Subversion, A Secret History of Women and Tattoo' by Margot Mifflin for Christmas. I wasn't expecting it. Amazing present. I can't wait to sit down and read it.
