I just want to remind everyone of our #1 agreement for this forum-
You agree that you will not:
    1. use the Site to personally attack, threaten, stalk, defraud, incite, harass, or advocate the harassment of another person, or otherwise interfere with another user's use of the Site;
So sometimes we all can't get along, but we can be civil and respectful. Please always try to contribute to this forum in a helpful way, we're still a young forum and we want to grow in a positive direction. Posts and exchanges written in haste and anger or with the intention of inciting a negative response can escalate quickly, and that doesn't serve anyone. that is great advice. Tattoo artists are exactly that...ARTISTS. their ability to interpret what you want will most likely be waayyy better than the non-artist could come up with.

i am not sure if there is a huge taste difference. to me fresh lemon juice always seems to freshen flavors...just like a little bit of salt brings out difference flavors. we have a lemon tree that is loaded so we tend to use lemons alot in our cooking...
going to roast some artichoke hearts that i got from farmers market in some lemon juice, garlic, chili flakes, thyme right now.

    here's my story..
i had a tattooer that was going with this girl and he asked me if i would finish her apprenticeship. i met her and said sure, 2 months later i got a hold of her on myspace (remember that place?) to see if she was serious because i hadn't talked to her in months.. she said she wanted to do it but thought i wasn't going to because the she wasn't dating that guy anymore. i told her i didn't care and "do you want the dang thing or not", so she says yes and we met the next day and spent the whole time talking. just talking about backgrounds and all.. well we were talking about where we had come to vegas from and found it was the same area, total population of 100,000+. but it got weird, she used to work at this jiffy lube in a strip mall.. i had a shop in this strip mall and would watch this long black haired girl walk by everyday to go to the quicky mart. come to find out it was her!! we talked more and hung out almost everyday, while learning her some tattooing for the next 4 months. we went to primer nationals and the night we got home and went to the local bar, had a few drinky poos and then we decided that we're gonna get together. 4 years later, married 3 and a 2 year old beautiful daughter and my 2 step daughters..

I was tattooing at a busy shop outside of Ft Benning Ga.
Don was stationed there working as a Ranger instructor. He got tattooed at the shop and soon became my client.within a few months he began working there also learning how to tattoo and working the 10-3am shift. We were friends , he had a girlfriend and I was married to another tattooer at the shop and had a little boy.
Don became a close family friend, a trusted coworker and I know that we really bonded during the hours spent tattooing him.
I guess we were friends and coworkers for about 2 years or so when I became single again.
I can't say that we had a wild romance but just that we were such good friends and we really liked and respected one another.
Our first date , so to speak, was in June - and we were married at the end of November.
For the next 10 years we tattooed wherever Don was stationed ( he worked in the army and tattooed till he retired from the military, almost 10 years ago) We also went on to have 5 more children.
this November we'll be married 20 years.

Tattoo Artist Scott Sylvia Hopes to Preserve the Tattoo Community with Launch of Last Sparrow Tattoo Web Site
The founder of a new web site, Last Sparrow Tattoo, hopes the popularity of tattoos won't ruin the craft.
    San Rafael, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) January 07, 2011
Iconic tattoo artist Scott Sylvia announces a new community for tattoo enthusiasts: Last Sparrow Tattoo (Tattoo Ideas & Pictures | Last Sparrow Tattoo). The Last Sparrow Tattoo forum and online magazine offers advice and resources for tattoo fans.
Tattoos appeal to a much broader range of people than in the past and interest (and social acceptance) is growing steadily with the endorsement from celebrities and pro athletes. A Pew Research Center study says over 30% of Americans age 18 - 25 have at least one tattoo, and 40% of people age 26 - 40. In contrast, the study found only about 10% of people age 41 - 64 are tattooed.
Sylvia, who is an owner at Black Heart Tattoo in San Francisco, California, is concerned that this popularity may come at the expense of the craft. He worries that mass publicity and popularity of tattooing may ruin either the craft or the artisans (tattoo artists).
He is disappointed in the tattoo magazines, who seem more concerned with selling than content. “Most current tattoo magazines are terrible examples of modern tattooing. Editors change entire stories in the interest of creating drama to generate more sales. They don't seem to care about tattooing,” he said.
“My goal is to provide a source for people to see and meet good reputable tattooers [tattoo artists] from around the world, just like the magazines used to do. I'm hoping that Last Sparrow Tattoo can help protect the art of tattooing while respecting its roots and growing the community,” he said. He is not as much interested in this month’s new hit sensation; but rather in celebrating the longevity of the art form.
Last Sparrow Tattoo has already brought the tattoo community together. The site provides in-depth video interviews of top tattoo artists like Freddy Corbin who created the logo for the popular television show Sons of Anarchy. Other popular tattoo artist interviews to date include; Juan Puente, Bryan Burk, Josh Arment, and Nick Colella. The interviews feature the details and life events that took place in each of the tattooers’ history that lead them to their success.
“I was apprehensive of making the site at first, but I now appreciate how the community has taken over the forum and made it their own. I've always felt that tattooing is a family, one I've always felt more comfortable in than my own family,” said Sylva.
One of the most active topics on the forums is “Tattoo 101” where people ask questions about getting a tattoo and get input from others in the community. There is also a lot of discussion about tattoo shops around the world and popular tattoo design ideas (knuckle tattoos for example).
Last Sparrow Tattoo has a constantly growing tattoo picture gallery with thousands of high quality pictures that the forum members upload every day. This is an excellent resource for anyone who is looking for tattoo design ideas.
Whether you are already covered in tattoos or looking to get your first one, Last Sparrow Tattoo is the place to get design advice, find the best artists, read and follow member blogs, or just hang out and chat in the forums.

tammy reacted to Steve in New 'Like' System
Today we added a new 'Like' feature - this is not tied to the Facebook like system, instead it gives us a way to tell each other which posts we like or enjoy so that other members can navigate to the popular content more easily.
This will be the most valuable for threads that span for several pages.
You will see the 'Like' link appear at the bottom right of each post next to 'share' when you move your mouse over the post.
The forum home page now has a new section that lists the most liked threads.
Once people start using this new feature, a dropdown menu will appear at the top of each thread giving you a way to quickly jump to the most popular posts in that thread. I attached an image showing what it sort of looks like.
Try it out and let us know what you think!
