I have a snake/ankh combo and people so far have always associated with evil, which is far from what it means, at least to me
but it's art so to each his own, it's up to their interpretation. I like to hear what they think it means before telling them

I, unfortunately, am posting on this thread for the first time with bad news :(
I live in Phoenix, AZ and my parents are back in CT with my lil sisters, Zoe and Sophie. Zoe is the Bichon and Sophie is a Yorky/Maltese mix AKA a "Morky" Zoe was my first dog I picked back in 2001. She had a sister named Coco who passed away from cancer when she was 6 years old back in 2007, right before I left for AZ for school.
My mother told me yesterday that they had to put little Zoe down :( She was going down hill for a few days-weight loss, loosing interest in things, etc. She had been having some lung and arthritis issues for a while now. I am going back east for the first week of May and was hoping to see my girls since I don't think I have been back there since the summer of 2012. That made it even more heart breaking to know she was gone before I really could say goodbye. It's hard, and it TRULY hasn't hit me since it's been so long and I never got to see her. I am glad though that my parents didn't allow her to suffer more as it seemed she had been in pain and was failing. She was 12 years old, about to be 13 on May 2. As I said, I picked her out of a litter and we have had that "bond" ever since. She always remembers me no matter how long I am gone and she always went to me first and gave me the most kisses. We ended up getting her and her sister since they were together when we got them so my dad felt sorry. We were going to jut get one dog but got 2 :P She is up there with her sister now though :D Going home to see my friend graduate grad school but it will be hard seeing my parents and only seeing the one dog :( In my mind, I felt that seeing her in May might be the last but I didn't expect it to happen to soon :( I am very upset about this, but don't let it surface much, especially at work.
Tattoo related--LOL I was thinking, and I thought this before her death, that I was just gonna get her name simply written with a design on my arm somewhere, not sure yet though :(

Lady at work today told me I should probably keep my shirt sleeves rolled down. :rolleyes:

Got an appointment with Chad K on the 20th. Stoked to be getting tattooed 2 times in a 3 week period

I posted in here before about how horrible my inner arm was, and I completely stand by that post--that was the only time I have literally gasped in pain while getting tattooed--but I've had a bunch more tattooing on my inner arms since and I think the problem with that really painful session was that I'd slept for around two hours the night (morning of really, fuck working nights) of the tattoo. Getting tattooed on very little sleep is the absolute fucking worst.

I know this a tattoo forum but a while back I asked my hairstylist, who has several tattoos, if he would ever get a piercing and he said NO WAY!!!
I just thought it was funny how he went through all that and it's permanent on his skin but he won't get any type of piercing, which is not permanent. I guess he just doesn't like em or he feels he wouldn't look good with them.
I have my eyebrow, left lobe and an industrial. I usually see tattoo artists with at least some ear piercings, maybe gauges
So are you pierced and tattooed? Or strictly a tattoo person??

If only these people would spend as much time LEARNING about their religion as they do TALKING about their religion.

Backhanded compliments are the worst. Heathenist, I'm glad you don't have to ever see that woman again.
I had the same issue with my visiting mil who said "I'm an artist so I can appreciate the art, it's beautiful. It's just too bad it's on you forever". I gave her a couple of gentle warnings, but the third time, I called her on it, saying it's not a compliment if it comes with a snide criticism and if she would like to continue to enjoy eating the dinners that the arms which are attached to the tattoos make then she should keep it to herself. It only half happened once more and all I said was "you're doing it" and it stopped and did not happen again.
I've also heard "At least you will be easily identifiable if something terrible happens to you".

"So you must watch Ink Master/ Miami Ink/ or other tattoo TV show, right?!"
"You have tattoos by more than one artist?! How does that make the artists feel? Are they angry?"

My father, who has no tattoos and is Catholic, asked me what would happen if I met the perfect man but he hated my tattoos... My response :"If he is the perfect man, then he'd love my tattoos."
He also used to teach me as a kid that tattoos will make you go to hell, but has since reversed his opinion on that.

I was bored on my lunch break, so my buddy Chris Porter at Alley Cat Tattoo cured what ailed me. Super small and right next to the knee ditch. Sorry for the leftover stencil residue. I like bright shower curtains.
