  1. i do something similar for my tattoos. i take the bandage of immediately when i get in and do a really hot water soak for 5-10 minutes then wash with cold water. then nothing for two days then hand lotion for the following week. i never have a problem. ok maybe its not that similar
  2. i dont have any photos but ive seen some stuff close to that old that looked both terrible and great. at this point its still a 50 50 chance. i would def like to see some conclusive evidence in either direction. ive always thought that no matter the tattoo when you get old your old and your work will show its age in one way or form. i used to work for bruce kaplan and i saw some single neddle work that was 15-20 years old that was holding up pretty fair considering lining and shading were done with said single needle
  3. i want to meet bennett! it would be like going to the zoo and being inside one of the cages lmao
  4. i said something that relates to this in another post. so i def agree with you. i do think the shows are a bit on the stupid side but we gotta make the best of this. i plan to.
  5. im down for whenever, if im working itll just have to be after 930.
  6. the talent pool is ever expanding and if we dont reach out to expand the client pool we will all drown. tv exposure, be it nonsense or not, was the inevitable. with a growing industry we need the clients. dont worry about how tv molds their expectations, get the people in the door and educate them. make them believe in you and your shop. i remember watching the sailor jerry documentary and it touching down on his distaste for lyle tuttle. he didnt like how tuttle was putting himself out there on main street but the truth of the matter is that if guys didnt do that then the business would of never grown and most of us probably wouldnt be tattooers. just be thankful that in an economy that has finally effected our industry, that were all still here and doing what we love. tattoos are a luxury at this point so you kinda gotta put yourself out that as the guys/girls that will provide you with the best this luxury has to offer. of course its always nice to hold onto our roots and be true to the ways of old... we certainly stand on the shoulders of giants but if you dont recognize the path ahead, your path will end
  7. that fraud shouldnt even be allowed to buy the book let alone be in it...its a dark day for tattooing when that kids name appears in the roster for our history
  8. try the bus one night... i think itll change your perspective on getting the east side

  11. i think it all depends on the feeling your trying to portray... these are two ive done and i feel they both work
  12. its funny that this topic came up... a few months back i ran into someone who said they new someone who got cancer from thier foot tattoo. he then tried to school me on the potential dangers of what im doing and that i should look it up on line for the facts. guess who almost got punched in the face?
  13. feel free to yell at me for saying this but i find that heavily tattooed women, if they are not tattooers themselves, are off the fucking wall... and i love them but never date them and to address what brian was saying about his buddy's meeting girls in the shop that they tattooed and who are now interested in tattooing. i hate to sound like a shit head but from my personal experience, thats going to be a shit show and i wish them the best of luck
  14. my ex girlfriend broke up with me on facebook by changing her status then when she realized i didnt see it she sent me a reminder email to go and look. i guess she was right when she said i was paying attention to her...lol

  17. as far as reproducing flash goes...i see it as a nice way to connect too and understand the roots of tattooing but i dont see it as the art of the person who reproduced it but its definitely their art
  18. there so many grey areas to copy right law. but copy right can be renewed by family members of the original artist(that might have changed though). you also have to consider if the artist left an estate then all works are property of the estate until given away or sold and if something goes on public domain the sole rights to it can be bought and it becomes the full property of the buyer.
