  1. Wow this is a really awesome post, thread or whatever you call it. My friend Ethan is having his back piece by this guy named Bunny in Norton Ohio at a shop called Rising Tide. This kid has skills. He does mostly large scale work on his clients but is willing to do most types of traditional, neo-traditional Japanese and American styles of any size. Really wild color schemes and just clean work. Also adding to the mix of lesser known from Ohio, Dave Wulf of tattoo faction. And the guy who is currently doing my back piece Karl Berringer of 252 tattoo in Cleveland Ohio. 252 is a really solid shop and I believe it to be some what heard of outside of our state. Anyway check these guys out via shop websites.

Bunny is ridiculous, he did a HUGE piece on my buddy Corey's side after only tattooing like 4 years or something and it was pretty fucking insane. Definitely super talented and very low profile.

  2. It's amazing when I go back down to Orlando to visit my folks how bad it is down there! I thought New York City was bad, but down there it is seriously EVERY STRIP MALL now has one, EVERY SINGLE ONE!! When i was a kid there were like 3, Deanna's, Altered States and Devotion, now there's HUNDREDS! All with sandwich boards outside advertising $20 tattoos. Makes me fucking sick.

  3. I've seen Lungfish a bunch and seen him solo a bunch, both are great, but the lungfish records are the only ones I can actually listen to at home. The solo stuff doesn't translate well to record. I Like the Skull Defekts record enough, Pupils and "Artificial Horizon" will always be my favorites though.

Probably not going to make the shows Pat, working tonight at the shop in JC and till ten in the city Thurs. Nicole is going tonight though.

  4. That's rad Bill, R.I.P. Sonny. I got mine from my buddy Adam Paterson who broke me into the business. I had just read Tattootime "Tattoo Magic" and thought it was so awesome, I had to add it to my magic. Got it across the top of my right hand, just below my wrist. Noticed recently that Stell has it in almost the exact same spot.

I feel the same way, being nice is such an under-appreciated virtue in this business, I can't believe that in this day and age, in a service job, there's still so much bad-attitude pseudo tough-guy posturing going on. It's honestly why I don't have many tattooer friends. Some people just dont understand that you don't have to be a dick to be cool I guess. I mean look at Paul Rogers, of all the things he is remembered for the foremost two are, he was a exceedingly kind, and an incredibly hard worker. That's the kind of legacy I want to leave. A jerk who can tattoo is still a jerk.

  5. i could probably listen to van halen all day long haha

I have done this many many times, Between VH1, VH2, Fair Warning, 1984, Diver Down, and Women and Children First that's enough to fill a whole day with awesome. (Not to mention the WB demos if you want to get REALLY crazy) I can never get sick of VH ever. I could be at a fucking funeral and if "Unchained" came on I'd be like "Ok! Guess we're partying!"

Greatest Rock and Roll band of all time.

(and Yes I have a Van Halen tattoo)
