Shitty Wednesday because I've become accustomed to checking out a new episode every week. Can't wait for next season!!!

I don't think I've ever wanted to be tattooed by someone so much in my life now. And not because he's 'Freddy Corbin'... but because he is Freddy Corbin. All of the episodes where great for one reason or another, but the Corbin series was next level. I mean, all of them got pretty personal but there was something about these last few that really hit home...

Found this pic of my boss, you can really see the panther head done by Dan Higgs on his chest. I would say the tattoo was done in 1991-1992 and the photo was 1994, but it still looks pretty good to this day. Funny I was hoping to find a photo of his Freddy Corbin Rock of Ages on his ribs, but all you can see is a little water in this photo.

Leaving for London in less than a week. Have an appointment set up with Stewart Robson on Friday November 25!! Couldn't be more excited!!!!!

Wow. The new episode (Corbin 3) is great stuff. I had called this arc of the tattoo age series a 'love letter to tattooing' and this episode just really gets you. Aaaaand.... it's not the last Corbin episode. There'll be one more according to Chris.
Fuck yeah.

After watching the new tattoo age video of Freddy and recently looking at the 222 Tattoo Shop thread I think we need a Temple Tattoo thread. Also for good measures let's make Tattoo 13 (Freddy's other shop with good tattooers as well) in the mix....For those who haven't seen it here is the interview Scott Sylvia did with Freddy Corbin for LST
For me Temple Tattoo is where @Scott Sylvia outlined and did some of the shading on my lower left arm of a cobra with a Dia De Los Muertos mask on wrapped around a sacred heart. Also Freddy Corbin did the lettering on my collar bone which I've mentioned in the lettering thread was impressive to see him make a few lines on my collar then take the pen and start writing some amazing script straight on where within a few minutes said "take a look in the mirror", the man is impressive. But overall when I think of Temple I think of hanging out laughing with friends, after hours smoking inside, and shooting the shit. The beautiful religious art, altars, flash with very good and friendly tattooers inside. I remember in the early days trying to find something to eat close by on the weekends was a pain in the ass as the block/area used to be like a zombie ghost town on the weekends.
For Tattoo Thirteen I instantly think of Chummy Alexanian and Hector Fong as well as the same vibe/atmosphere as Temple. Plus the infamous Friday the Thirteenth parties there. I've only been tattooed once there and it was by Freddy at one of the parties. I had a colleague with Parkinson's want to get tattooed so I gave him a list of tattoo shops to checkout and he decided on here so I went with him and Sonju tattooed him. The experience was great and Sonju was very patient and gave him a great tattoo which I can only imagine is no easy job in that situation and the uncontrollable moving.

I forgot to mention. I love the moody opening shot with mister Corbin drawing and there is that huge dildo on the shelf! :D

Loved this, probably my favourite episode so far in the series

I had the honor of getting a Peony tattooed by @Stewart Robson last night at SFO. What a great guy (and obviously world class artist)...awesome time talking with him. Amazing experience sitting there being tattooed while artist after artist came up to greet Stewart/Valerie and check out what they were doing. I was being tattooed by Stewart right next to Valerie tattooing a girl while watching Mike Rubendall and Henning Jorgensen tattoo about 10 feet away. Insane!
If Stewart doesn't put something up, I'll try to get a good picture when it heals.

Kev reminded me I have not posted a picture of my ribs on my recent trip to texas..

Seth Wood's backpiece from Roper is a golden dragon. Yes I've seen it, yes I have photos, no they won't ever be on the Internet. The less Roper tattoos on the Internet, the better in my opinion. I saw a few of his tattoos this weekend and they were all amazing.
The SFO convention was fantastic for Valerie and I. Maybe I'll make a blog post about it but it was a pretty humbling and inspiring thing to make new friends, see old friends, meet heroes & legends and all of them were super cool. People I consider way more advanced and accomplished tattooers than myself said very complimentary things about my work.
