My lady and I just got a pet bird, he's a fancy green cheeked conure and he's just about 12 weeks old. Since we're both tattoo nerds and because puns are irresistible, his name is Oliver Peck. Haha.

I also don't think it's THAT bad. It's also very cover-able.
That said:-
The fact that the teacher offered to pay to have it 'fixed' suggests to me he knows he screwed up. I find it a little odd that he went with them to the shop when they got these tattoos ... and I second noting that it looks like it's in a fairly intimate spot? Was the teacher hanging around? Creepy if so. Overall, really poor judgment - legal or not.
If my kid was 18 I would tell him he was an idiot, but at that age I think it's pretty much adulthood: Big boy rules.
If he was 17 or younger, yeah, it's a little arbitrary, but I'd be considering taking it further with that teacher's school.

Hey, at least she will have a cool story about getting her first tattoo one day.

Well, that could be worse. If she likes it now, great; if she wants it covered or redone later, that looks doable too. Fingers crossed everything was sterile.
This sounds like awful judgment on the part of the teacher. Most of my friends and family who teach at a HS level feel they need to be pretty cautious these days. (I guess this is another conversation entirely, though.)

I stumbled upon a shop called anvil tattoo and Brad tierney/ robert ulman out of altus oklahoma through instagram when I first got it(maybe a year ago) I immediatly thought they were doing a lot of cool stuff. I have waited a while to make sure I wasnt just wanting to like the stuff since they were close but man if anything Im liking it more. Check out brads work on instagram BRADANVIL

I don't know your dog and how the tattoo captures her likeness or not, but I love that tattoo. It has a lot of personality and is folky in the best way.

Thanks so much for saying that- I sincerely can't tell you how much I needed to hear that. They definitely are awesome tattoos, and I don't think I'm going to mess with them.
My wife and I were out walking the dogs last night, and I looked back to see our little female Boston crossing the street. She was excited and panting and looked exactly like the tattoo. I think the artist kind of unknowingly captured her "crazy look." She looks the same way when she has been running around the dogpark and is in the process of stalking her older brother for whatever he has in his mouth.
I think you hit the nail on the head, though- I guess the look doesn't quite match what I had in my head, but it's still her and it's still some very cool ink that I will grow to love over time.

I really liked! It seems very well made and the design is very unique , in my opinion leave anyway , why not do another dog the way you want? ( Sorry for English , Brazillian guy)

Something a tattooer told me that I wish I'd known from the start: get the big pieces first.

Placement is, in my opinion, the hardest thing about tattoos to understand, and it is also often the factor that distinguishes good tattoos from great tattoos. This probably isn't the most satisfying answer, but I think to really understand placement you need to look at real tattoos on people because pictures, especially the tightly cropped Instagram photos that make up most of what we look at these days, really give no sense of placement. Half the time you can't even tell what body part they're on.

I believe that is Tattooist Art Mag, which has no affiliation with Tattoo Artist Magazine, nor is it an actual print magazine. But still a very nice tattoo you have there. I do some work for TAM, so I figured I should clarify.

my question is, how did we get to post #13 of this thread with no photos or even a single request for a photo. all these words are gettin' me down! i don't have any work from him, but i've admired it for some time. here a few for our viewing pleasure. I'm pretty sure these will all age alright.
