Hands On reacted to Dan in 15th Annual Bay Area Tattoo Convention
so I got a little hula lady from Tim Hendricks yesterday, it was a beautiful day at the bay and I had a great time at the show.
my wife made choc chip cookies for them.

Back from London. It was good. ❤️ Mike finished the background on my leg and Valerie did a rad geisha for me.

I'm going Saturday and maybe Friday night. But Saturday for sure. Nothing booked yet, probably just going to bring cash and maybe walk up somewhere.

Ha after enough of them I’d probably try but I’d also probably spill a perfectly good drink

Not really a new tattoo but I got a call from the shop that did my tattoos. They are having a professional photographer come in to shoot some of the artists favorite pieces and the artist who did mine choose one of mine as one of his favorites that he wanted shot. Thought that was pretty sweet. I’m guessing it’s the clipper ship but I’m not sure.

I know people that have experienced this, especially when it is a large or highly visible tattoo. You've drastically changed the way you look, so your brain has to "re-define" how it pictures your body. This can often lead to some temporary distress or anxieties. All my friends who have experienced this felt better after your brain gets used to your new look and self image.
Hope that helps!

Just keep it clean. Don't over futz with it. It's further from your heart, which can mean it takes longer to heal. It looks normal to me.

so skip the fun and the state fair and relax for a week or 2,
get it healed good, missing the fair and a little fun is short lived,
the tattoo is forever.
keep a little aveeno on it a couple times a day.

Much less anxious of those than their associated ditches. But ( realizing I have one elbow ditch tattooed) Knee ditch actually scares me.

Hands On got a reaction from Boiled Dove in How Important is the Experience?
The tattooer's bedside manner might be something worth mentioning. Tattooing fast and clean is good for everyone. It might hurt like cuss as they're ripping through your skin, but at least it's not long and drawn out! I appreciate when the artist is sympathetic (or empathetic) towards the client and works quickly, makes you laugh or feel comfortable to ease the pain, checks in to ask how you're doing, wipes gently, etc. This is all part of the experience that can make it bearable if done right or horrible if done wrong.
I had one artist who paid great attention to detail, but so much so that he wiped and checked his work after every tiny line. By the end of it, it felt like he was dry wiping with sandpaper! This also added to the duration of the pain. Even writing about it now makes me cringe.

Hands On reacted to Kaitlyn in Hi, new here. I’m wondering if my tattoos so far are too uniform and organized?
Thanks, everyone for your reassurance! I don’t know why I was worried lately. 🙂

I agree, I think you've got a great looking collection. No reason to worry about placement at this point. You've plenty of room for others that will pull the look together and spots for little jammers.
Relax and enjoy them.

Welcome! Your tattoos look great! You have nothing to worry about, it's not like there are tattoo layout police.

I travelled cross country for a family visit and to teach a ton of hot yoga classes. I’m a heavy sweater and didn’t want to risk getting any germs in it from the mat, so he suggested saniderm to protect it.
