I'm currently working in Saigon VN and have to wear long sleeves to cover my tattoos. I have to say, it's a bit warm for it here at the moment but the majority of my time is spent indoors with AC so it's no big deal.
You can cover healing tattoos with clothing just make sure they're loose fitting and clean when you put them on

So, I'm in Atlanta for a software conference and it let out earlier than I expected and I found myself with an afternoon with nothing to do. Browsed the interwebs for shops close by and didn't see anything promising. Just as I was about to give up and found one that looked good and ran over and got this done. It is a really bad pic but you get the idea. It wraps a bit so I doubt I will ever rally get a good shot.

@scottyg Thanks man!! Now that my skin has settled out, the yellow in the eyes really contrasts against the pink and green. Better photos after everything has settled in! 
But man wow, your piece is incredibly powerful, I can't wait to see the black and colour go into it.

Yeah, I like it the way it is. Adding to an existing design can be tricky as the newer elements usually have a "tacked-on" feel - if you know there's a connection to your dad, that's really all you need.

Thanks, Ginger!  I'm so glad I found this forum.  I think my friends are tired of hearing me talk about my ink, and I'm far from tired of talking about it.

Wow....just....Wow. Incredible piece of work.

Session # who knows now, but coming to the end. 36 hours to get here. One more sit to finish a tiny bit of colouring we haven't done and to hit a bunch of the background to smooth things out. Scott wanted to darken the big wave over my ribs to something a little closer to the lower one. It's gonna be weird not having this to work on anymore, but at the same time I'm so effing relieved. Gonna be healed for summer and for the crazy shop party--boo yeah!

Here is a Fudo/Dragon sleeve I started on April first with Scott Sylvia. Still need to line the scales on the dragon and line the inside of the arm. This took roughly two and a half hours. I go back in early June. Biggest project I've started so far (my right arm I pieced together). 

My backpiece by Chris Crooks is finished for now. Will be extending down to the knees this summer. Two full consecutive days to get it finished, forgive the redness and bloodinfused colors.

I totally agree with this. I got my first two at 16&18, and thankfully I was chronically broke at the time so they are very small! I started over at 30+ and I'm really happy I didn't cover myself with tons of spur-of-the-moment tattoos back then. What I am doing now has been planned over many years, I can afford to get great tattoos now, and I have the self-confidence to go for stuff I know I will love long term.

I didn't get my first tattoo until I was 34. Smartest thing I could have ever done.
