  1. I had a reaper done on my rib area 2 months ago. The 1st session, I was fine for it. I sat like the dead for it. I took 2 prescription percocets and I was good. Same formula for the 2nd session, only this one was painful as heck, good thing it only took an hour. Funny how 2 sessions with about the same conditions and I had different reactions.

  2. I was at the scene of a car accident years back and one of the cars was on fire and upside down. Me and the only cop there were making sure nobody was left in the cars and the gas tank blew. We were sprayed with burning gasoline, luck was with us, we were on the far side of the car. I wound up with a couple of 3rd degree burns on a relatively fresh tattoo. I just let it heal. I finally had the burn covered with new work a few years ago,

  3. I sat for 3 hours last night, rib area and part of my stomach and towards the side. I doubled up on my prescription pain medication and did very well. A couple of regulars stopped in and we shot the breeze for a while. Keeping busy is a big help.

  4. I had some work done Friday night. I was at the shop earlier, a friend of mine was getting a tattoo. I had planned on going home first, but would up going to dinner with my friend, plus it was raining hard. I had one pain pill with me, 2 would have been nice. So I took the 1 and it was good enough. I sat for 2.5 hours having a hanya started.

  5. I have one that the green was lined in a darker green and it has held up. I have had older black-lined tattoos spread out over time. Ones that were close together almost touched after 20 years. I agree that the sun is a tattoo's worst enemy. I know one artist, she has some nice water color work on her, no outline but she is almost an albino compared to me and never sets foot in the sun. Her work still looks perfect years later.

  6. I find that dealing with the same shop and artists over a long period of time, they treat me right. Nothing is ever free, but is what some people seem to be looking for. A good experienced artist will work faster than someone with less experience. I have known artists that would purposely drag a tattoo out longer than it should have, just to make extra $$.

I've noticed that some shops are not that busy, it seems that at least locally here the winter is off-season for tattooing. And big in the summer. I want all my tattoo work in before mid May. So an artist will appreciate the work a little more in the slow season.

I now spend what I want on tattoos, but before I would save up for one. Put away $20 and $10 there and it adds up quick.
