I really don’t think 2 tattoos justifies you saying “most tattoo artists” I have a lot more than 2 tattoos and have been around multiple shops and artists and my experiences have been the complete opposite.

this example (in a real tattoo) would not wear well,it will be a muddled  black blob in 2 years,
    "bold will hold"
like this on my thigh and on the back of my neck,
bold well saturated colors and blacks, and solid well defined  bold outlines, that's what has longevity.

wait, what the hell ? LOL other than road rash form a motorcycle accident, I have to disagree 100% with this "friction can affect a tattoo overtime",
the sun and age are the only things that affect a tattoo after it's healed,
"friction" on a tattoo will NEVER affect a tattoo IMO,
palm and bottom of feet tattoos fallout because of the type of skin it is,NOT from friction,

I can’t read that top one as a print, let alone applied to skin. All tattoos definitely do blur and fade over time, but a well made tattoo will acquire character as it ages while a poorly done one will turn into a blob.

I wouldn’t recommend having your first tattoo experience be on your back down your spine. That being said, welcome! Do your research on an artist that has done similar work to what you want. Show them some references and don’t rush the process. Try to think about your future plans too and where this tattoo will fit.

It won’t “fix” itself. You should fix your expectations of tattoos. Tattoos are imperfect. They are made by imperfect people on an imperfect canvas. They are not meant to be looked at through a microscope. It’s a small tattoo on a delicate piece of skin and any imperfection is going to be spotted easier.

Never, ever, ever get another tattoo.
You are obsessing over something that isn't there. I have tattooed wrists. The skin is thin. That's how they look. Hacking it up by adding more ink is going to make it worse. LEAVE. IT. ALONE. Do not get another tattoo. Ever.

Tattoos in general fade with time. Trying to do anything to it while maintaining the original design is going to make a mess of it.

3 weeks is too soon to tell. Also it’s on some very thin skin. Wrists tend to be more prone to slight blowouts. If it is blown out you won’t be able to “fix” it without making it worse. I would just stop obsessing over it and let it finish healing.

Ditch whoever told you the lifework was bad. It's not perfect, but there is no such thing as a perfect tattoo. That's a real dick move, trying to ruin your tattoo for you. Enjoy your tattoo, it looks fine.

Exactly! Lots of crap in sunscreen that can irritate a healing tattoo.

Got this little bowl of ramen tattooed while I was in Tokyo a couple of weeks ago. Picture taken immediately after session so it’s a little reddish but it has healed really nicely.

Putting that tattoo on you without warning you what was going to happen is just wrong. I wouldn't go back to that shop.
Everybody's skin is different; there is no way to tell if it will last one year, three years or ten years. Enjoy the tattoo right now. There is NOTHING you can do now anyway. And forget about learning to tattoo.
