SStu got a reaction from oboogie in Getting my first tattoo
If you're going to reproduce old art as a tattoo then find a tattooist who is very good at photo realism.
On the other hand, if you're looking for a one-of-a-kind piece of art - then don't even think about a "design service". A truly good artist will make a truly good design and then be interested in tattooing it. A large percentage of tattooists who might try to reproduce someone else's original work of art will do so only because they're hungry - not necessarily because they are capable.

I would stop using that stuff and see what happens.
over the centuries hundreds of thousands of tattoos have healed just fine with no product at all.

Since you're new to tattoos, let me try again - GOOD artists don't usually use other people's designs and don't usually design for other artists. You're unlikely to get art that will translate into a good tattoo. GOOD artists will redraw to make the art fit your skin and body part. Frankly I wouldn't go to an artist that just took a design handed to them.
Presumably you came here for advice. Take it or leave it.

What I ended up with on the inner thigh. Hamstring scorpion and rose in two weeks!

SStu reacted to Baldguy95 in Cancer survivor. First tattoo
Hi guys. New to the forum here. Got my first tattoo last week. It’s not 100% done yet. Gotta go back and add a dove, some clouds, and light rays in august. The lions eyes are purple because I fought and beat Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2020 and that’s the ribbon color. I’ll post fresh and current. Currently in the bottom picture my scabs are coming off. But can’t really tell that in the picture. Just trying to keep it lightly moisturized a few times a day.

Ultimately up to the tattooist.

SStu got a reaction from Maynard in Thinking red ink allergy! Heavy scabbing
Yeah, scabbing isn't normally related to any specific color . . . it's usually results from the tattooist "digging in". It won't necessarily hurt the final outcome - but it does take longer to heal.

SStu reacted to Hogrider in Stuck between two tattoo artists not sure how to pick?!
Easy - get one sleeve by one, the other sleeve by the other.

SStu reacted to Hogrider in First Post, Brown Tattoo is Red???
Tattoos take 4-6 weeks to heal. Longer if they went in rough. Relax and let it heal.

SStu reacted to Hogrider in Asking a tattoo artist to tattoo someone else's (non-tattoo) art?
Yea, you guys must be great lawyers to be so desperate that you're advertising on forums with these stupid posts. You're responding to an eight year old post dumb ass.

SStu reacted to pidjones in Post awesome things you have been doing recently
The turn-out was awesome, the occasion shitty. End of an era, the Time Warp Tea Room closed after last Tuesday. Our vintage motorcycle club had their last meeting at the Time Warp but will move ~1/2 mile North to Twisters. Everyone really appreciates Dan and Peggy basically keeping it open one day a week for us since COVID started. The usual hoodlums showed up and terrorised the area.

Wow. There was ink applied where that cross scar is now?!
I've never seen that before.
My guess is your skin will heal normal, but it's gonna take a while.

SStu got a reaction from oboogie in Tattoo meaning
as far as the wearer is concerned = tattoos don't necessarily have to mean anything to the viewer.
