Brock Varty reacted to CultExciter in Need some advice as to adding colour to this.....
Honestly, it lacks definition, but I understand coverups. You don't always get the pick of the litter. That said, white will not "save" this tattoo. White is best used as an accent, something that poor tattooers have yet to discover. This is because of the way it reacts over time. My suggestions right now is to see if some of the elements can be tightened up and if some brighter colors can be implemented in the background to create a little more contrast.

Hi, My name is Jon and I tattoo out of Liberty Tattoo on Long Island. Basically joined here to converse with like minded tattooers and collectors...this seems like a very well rounded community, where there is a lot of really good information, and I would like to be part of it.

    First things first.
    14/88
The 14 Words. "We must secure the existence of our People, and a future for White children."
As another poster noted, the 88 refers to HH, or "Heil Hitler".
While the Hakenkreuz is all of the things talked about here, ancient symbol of the Aryans, Buddhists, Amerinds, et al, as well as the symbol fo the NSDAP, it has also been used in reaction to racist imagery created by Blacks and Latinos and directed against Whites.
For instance, it is racist to have the Hakenkreuz (Swastika) tattooed on you. IT is NOT racist to have the Master, or a Cholo tattoed on you, or even a "Viva la Raza" tattoo if you are Latino. It is NOT racist to have the clenched fist tattooed on you if you are Black, or to have "Black Power", or the "African flag" tattooed on you.
    Bullshit.
Everyone in the world is racist to some extent, and everyone SHOULD be proud of their heritage.
The avatar on my account here is a pic of a shield-decoration excavated in what is now northern Germany, and dating from about 900 A.D. Is it racist? Guess I'm in trouble if it is, cause I've got it tattooed on my shoulder.
As a guest in Cook County Jail in 1973, I got so damn pissed off about Whites being jacked-around by Blacks who accused them of being racist as they were mobbing them ten on one, that I tattooed the Hakenkreuz on one knee and the Iron Cross on the other. Since we wore knee-length cutoffs, they were real visible. Anytime anyone asked, I told them it stood for White Pride and White Power.
Funny thing is, the Black guys I was locked-down with understood that, and they were good with it. I have had a few scraps over the years, but I've found that it's more the self-hating Whites that get lathered about that crap than the Blacks.
Am I a racist? No. It's ridiculous to hate someone simply because of the color of their skin. I judge everyone by their actions.
Am I proud of being White? Hell yes. Why shouldn't I be? Let's face it, kids...Whites are the minority. The population of the world is about 9% White, and falling.
Conclusions? Well, if someone feels strongly enough about his beliefs, whatever they are, to tattoo a symbol that many find hateful on himself, then good on him. We should ALL have that kind of force of conviction.

This is my right arm shortly after my last session. Some parts are still raw in the picture.
The back of my arm is a cover up of some shitty script...

I just wanted to mention this new project we are working on. It is an exhibit catalog for an art show with the theme “Born Weird” at Portland’s own Upper Playground gallery FIFTY24PDX. Craig Brown of Historic Tattoo and Scott Boyer of Yellow Beak Press have hand picked the contributors for this project. Tattooers were selected based on style and asked to paint four sheets containing gross or weird subject matter. The result seem to be all over the board from gross-out to just bizarre. We promise it won’t disappoint! The book we are producing will include all of the content from the exhibit and some extra material. We hope to have it out in early 2013. Check Yellow Beak Press production updates. The opening was on 10-4-12 at PDX’s Upper Playground gallery. The exhibit will be up until December 2012. The roster is as follows.

Toughing things out has a place, IMO, but I was talking more about injuries that suggest specifically contraindicated exercises as a result. Heavy bilateral squats could take a disc bulge and make it a herniation. If there are alternatives like a split squat, why not? Personally I still want to be training when I'm 80, so sure, I'll train smart rather than brave when it comes to injuries.

I firmly believe we need to disagree to move things forward though we need to disagree in a manner that is respectful and productive not stuck in a win/loss mentality. Or a my way or the highway pathology. Negotiation and the ability to have a difficult conversation are life skills that are very attractive. The ability to keep ones cool and sit in the uncomfortableness of difference knowing the other is not attacking you so calm your anxiety and realize we've all got lacks. No need to push your agenda but please do tell me about it.
    Just my general thoughts

Actually, I hate both of them, but it makes no difference who wins or loses, the real power isn't in the President, and the partei's are just two sides of the same coin.
The ONLY way to get this Nation back to it's original state of being by the people, for the people, is to topple the two-partei system and replace the corrupt federal oligarchy with the Constitutional Republic that was founded and intended by our forefather.
Abortion, immigration, hoplophobia, race, these are all just social-constructs used by the Mandarin class to keep the serfs divided and occupied.
"And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Thomas Jefferson, writing to William Stevens Smith in 1787.
    And just as true today.

As a few stated...no politics seems like a good idea. Even the two most logical people can lose their shit when it comes to politics. Nobody ever admits they could be wrong and everyone feels like who they support is the best.
I do have a clear political preference and it closely follows my internal beliefs.
