Started mine yesterday evening with Kelly Edwards. It was amazing... and much more painful than I anticipated, and he tattooed for something like 5 hours with only a short break. I was actually genuinely surprised at how hard it was. Took my breath away more than once. He tattoos fast and hard, and I am humbled and proud to even be wearing this line work, sat like a rock. Next appointment will be in August for scales on the rattlesnake and starting to shade.

Oh yeah, and did the left side, or one preferential side, hurt a LOT more than the other?

if you're purchasing art, think of how to transport it. a large tube could work, depending on how much art you plan to get. with all all the shops in the Bay, you can easily go broke on this trip!
Tattoo City! You might even be able to connect with Trevor for the good stuff, if you're so inclined. (IG trevor_lee_ewald)
keep an eye out for what Analog has up in the gallery here.
between The City and Santa Cruz, you'll likely pass San Jose. drop by State of Grace for some moichandizing. Monmon Cats, dude. i'm not even a cat person and i have half a dozen prints.

Blackheart always has prints, shirts stickers etc. Defintley worth a visit.
Some of the guys at Spider Murphy's have prints etc but they're not usually displayed. If you go, ask to see if anyone has anything available.
If you are in Santa Cruz, go to California Electric (Thad Ritchey, Herb Auerbach and Stefan Johnsson). Beautiful shop and great tattooers. O'Reillys should be on your list down there too. See if Dan Wysuph has any of his "Oh California" prints.
Also, go to the mystery spot. It's great. And cheezy. But great.
    Finally:
    SF
    FRISCO
    THE CITY
    Enjoy!

I would! But I already got an eagle on my bicep and having two eagles next to each other would look silly (I'm sure I'll get a second eagle someday, just not right next to the first one). Still, you guys are giving me some things to consider, so thanks already!

Huh. I have bigger boobs, and if I dare analyze them in the mirror, I suspect the left one is a tad bigger. This will not stop me from the under bust tattoo, even considering future sagging. I'm kind of surprised about the concern over drooping, the natural condition of the human body being asymmetrical and the inevitability of aging. I wonder if guys think about their chest pieces and maybe one day getting man boobs that could warp it out (my guess is unlikely). I do think proportion is important, because my girls are bigger, so I'm not going to get a dainty little piece tucked under there.
Regarding chest pieces, I've given that one a lot of thought, because I don't want a tiny little "v" there. I also want it connected to my underboob piece. I really like the chest pieces Guy Le Tattooer does on women - they are large and bold (I included an example of his). I like how some of the tattoo goes on to the boob. I've also seen women who have two large flowers, which I think looks beautiful (the example I included is by Thomas Cardiff).

I really don't think that you should worry, because:
    1. Most all photos that I have seen of such pieces feature hand-bras where you can adjust as necessary to simulate perfect symmetry.
    2. In person, just leaning one way or the other will change the symmetry (or flexing a muscle).
    3. In person, I really don't think anyone will be paying attention to symmetry.
    4. Basically, the only person that will really notice is you, when you look in a mirror - and you are probably already too critical of yourself! (My ears are very non-symmetrical, but I doubt many people have noticed.)
Get a good tattoo and be even more awesome!

I freak out about too much sun, and for the past 9 years I have been really happy with the usually gray Seattle weather.
THIS SUMMER, BROUGHT TO YOU BY GLOBAL WARMING: MY TAN.
I have a tan. This is a once in a lifetime event. (Actually 3rd in a lifetime). I am kind of freaking out over it though? All I'm thinking is SUN DAMAGE and I'VE RUINED MY TATTOOS. And it's actually causing me anxiety.
Reading through this I can see that clearly I just need to relax and enjoy the fact that I've upped my Vit D and my outdoors time, but I do feel the anxiety in the pit of my stomach. Gaaaah.
Thanks for listening, that is all folks.

You should probably go down to Olympia and see Marco Hernandez at Lit Fuse. He is mostly known for his Black and Grey work, but he can do pretty much anything. He has been tattooing for a long time, and he is really good at fixing up and adding on to tattoos that people are not happy with. He travels a lot so I recommend calling to see if he is around before you drive down, but he will be worth whatever time it takes to get tattooed by him.

Hi Wes...hate to give you the most obvious answer, but actually finishing the tattoo will make it look better/more finished. Right now it's just an outline. Good luck!

I recently met Khalil and Megon who work at Fist Full of Metal in Seattle and both are really nice people in addition to making great tattoos. I believe they had some good examples of coverup work in their portfolios.

The only one i know off the top of my head is Liberty Tattoo, which is very highly regarded. There are a few locals to that area on here though that can chime in maybe. @beez is from the PNW i think? (Might be totally wrong there.)
If you're willing to make the trip to Portland i know of some great shops personally, but i know you have some world class artists in your area!

Congrats, @beez. That is truly awesome.
Here's an awesome thing I did last week: held this guy for the first time.

He's pretty chill, and his big sister is already infatuated with him--for now. :)
