I love hearing about all the great things you all are doing. :)
Next week, I start my last semester as an undergrad. I'm ecstatic. Now, I just need to figure out what I want to do before I apply to PhD programs. I am happy that I decided to take a break to get some more work experience, etc. Not stressing over grad school has enabled me to take time to consider what is important to me and to focus on other aspects of my life.

I found this photo the other week, but forgot to put the artists name etc on the file before I saved it so if anyone knows so I can give credit please feel free to give the heads up!
I should also add it's most likely NSFW, but it does show that with some good placement, a young lady could easily get a bad ass Pharaoh's Horses ;)

I'm not a tattooer so I can't say either way but I've seen plenty of full armpit tattoos healed and the people all seem fine. As regards to nipples, again I've seen plenty of people with their nipples tattooed and they've been alright. Even if it does fuck up your nipples, does it really matter? I've yet to find a use for mine...

@MadeIndelible sorry homie!!! I'm still around as always, I've been lurking a lot and the internet connection I am currently on isn't super reliable nor quick by any means! Which thankfully will be fixed within the next couple of weeks, and man have i got some things to post ;) I've also had to take a crappy day job (which is long and arduous) and most of the time when I get a chance to get on here, I'll start to type a post and it feels like all my writing is an incomprehensible mess!! haha.
Cheers for the thread/post my brother!!!

Oh and one other thing - I've pretty much got a two, possibly three weeks stint in Japan in the works for mid-year so the travel thread will be brought back from the dead and I'll be sure to keep everyone up to date of my travels/progress (yeah, I'm starting my back ;) )

You bring up a valid point. Just getting a tattoo is giving up a big level of trust. For me, I stick with Kings Ave not because I only trust the people there, but because they also are guaranteed to bring in new tattooers and guest artists of a high caliber. The whole idea of "trust" is just an iffy word for the idea of getting tattooed. Rather, a client should trust THEMSELF to make good decisions when choosing an artist or a shop. As long as you know a tattooer is legit and does good work, then "trusting" them or a shop is a non-issue.

My home shops are NY Adorned and Kings Ave., so i'm not sure i'll have any skin left by the time i've run through all the options at those shops. I never realized how lucky i was to have those two in my backyard until i started coming here.

I think it just depends on what you want and how you'd like to go about getting tattoos. I went to the same artist for some of my tattoos because I was more comfortable going to the same person. Now, I am interested in finding great artists and having tattoos from many different artists... And since joining LST, I want to save up money and travel to get tattooed. :o

Went over to Huntington Beach Tattoo, they were doing a cancer benefit. Was able to get a nice skull & cross-bones from Aaron Coleman. Will post a pic tomorrow after I take off the bandage.

I pretty much just have some random tattoos in varying styles so I've gone to different artists based on their "specialty." I really like going to different artists and different shops, though. For me, getting a tattoo includes enjoying the whole experience of going to a cool, new shop and meeting and experiencing different, talented artists in different towns and locations. Compared to most of the people here I have limited tattoo experience but I've been tattooed by old school veteran biker types, young new school artsy types, a world famous artist, local artists, etc., and have been tattooed in a cool shop in Brooklyn and at the great Hope Gallery in New Haven and Off the Map in Mass. I've been in shops that are private like doctors offices and others where I was just inside the main entrance behind the front counter. Again, for me I love experiencing all these different little things that go with getting a tattoo so I will continue to go to different artists and different shops for my future tattoos.

Survived my first week of acting like a "real doctor", complete with 2 overnight call shifts. Thankfully it was pretty uneventful, with no really hard cases to deal with. I have however confirmed that pediatrics is not going to be on my list of residencies to apply for, dealing with screaming kids and hypochondriac parents is definitely not my cup of tea.

I've been working in commercial construction for the last ten years, mainly in project administration. For the last seven years I've been really busting my balls to become a Project Manager. Which, in this economy/job market, has been an uphill battle. Last week I was finally offered the title - and the huge nut that accompanies it - but turned it down. I can't take the industry any longer. My wife and I are moving to my home town of San Diego and I'm going to barber college. I'm excited to take up a new trade that offers a little room for creativity.

I am pretty excited about how creative and involved i've been, not only tattooing but in the tattoo world---
I was asked to and participated in an art show in NY
Two different tattooers books of flash
Drew a series prints that I was able to sell, trade , gift and donate to a couple of auctions for good causes
Wrote and sold a satirical book on getting in to tattooing
And for the first time was a feature in a super tattoo magazine
    And still happily married & raising a family! (;

Today was my first day back to work after a 12 day vacation, during which I had my hand tattooed. I wore a Lycra material wrist support thing I found at the drug store. Flesh toned, pretty soft, and no finger holes; completely open at the knuckles. It hid the top of my hand perfectly and after a bit I didn't even feel it.
No one noticed. Not one question or comment. Since I always wear long sleeves at work it helps cause the sleeves hang low onto my hands. To be certain though, prior to leaving for my vacation I printed our current personal appearance policy and date stamped it. At the very moment I had my hand tattooed I was within policy (cover it). I know for certain no one has a hand tattoo. So, if they eventually find out, freak, and re-write the policy to ban hand tattoos entirely, I will be grandfathered in and OK. Gotta love being in a union.

Interesting update: I just had my annual review with my boss. He said he'd actually like to see expose more of my tattoos as work, as I'm a "creative" (copywriter) and he wants me to feel as comfortable as possible. I mentioned that I keep mostly covered because a lot of the folks in our company are fairly uptight, but he said, "Fuck them."
    We'll see how it goes!
