I would recommend compiling a group of tattoo imagery you like,  then go and visit various shops/ artists to check out their portfolio. Once you find an artist (or several) that does the style you are looking for, you can speak with them and see what they can create for you. Spit ball ideas with them, listen to the artist, and enjoy the journey.

I'm an old guy,but I manage to do 20 pushups and 20 sit ups and walk 1/2 mile 7 days a week,every morning.
I know that's not much,but at 57 it's better than nothing ! LOL

As @Dan said before, It would be best to discuss your idea with a good local artist about what you want and have them make a design that fits.

I gotta say IMO stars are way overdone,kind of like Duane johnson tribal,
but if that's what you want,
find the right artist in your area and tell them your idea and let them make a design for you.
 

If you really want that quote I'd suggest embedding it in a stylized banner of some kind so it's not just standing words. 
Or, you could just get a dragon. 

Here is an example of what everyone was attempting to convey. With the font thin like that, it would take away from the tattoo as a whole. Get a tattoo that looks like a tattoo, I remember someone saying that once.

I've had 2 consecutive days with Chris Crooks from White Dragon Tattoo in Belfast. First day he did all the line work (7 hours) and the second day he did background and some shading (6 hours). It was an amazing experience with a phenomenal artist and down to earth great guy. I'm blown away by the quality and speed of his work.
He put a video up on his instagram doing the piece more justice. I will be flying back to Belfast in December for the continuation of this piece.

I finally had my rib piece finished after 3 years. It feels good to be able to start on new tattoos. Done by Luke Kehoe (except the ribbon, just touched up by him). I didn't want to cover the ribbon, so we added things around it.

Who better than Chris Garver to fill a crucial spot on my forearm?  I requested his rendition of a phoenix inspired by a line drawing in Ed Hardy's latest book, "Drawings for Tattoos."  Aside from that, I told him to do it however he wants.  I guess he wanted to make it perfect and pink.  "Well... it's more of a coral."  Either way, I'm digging it and I feel much more complete!

Tell her that you love her and hug her when you can. Oh, and maybe not post any more photos. :)
Side note: None of my family approves of my ink. When my brother gets mad at me he calls me a "tattooed white trash whore". I, too, have multiple degrees and a great job. My strategy is to kill them with kindness. You most likely can't/won't change her mind but don't let that impact you being an awesome, loving daughter.

@Morrigan its all good - only your mother has any control over her emotional state and perspectives - I'm 45 and my father doesnt like my tattoos - though he wont say as much to me - you gotta live your life and do what works for you - partly i think there is a generational issue at play - if it was me - i'd be straight forward - 'mom i love you and you dont have to love my tattoos but your frustrations with what i do with body wont have any influence on what i will continue to do with my body' - end of story

So good! Dane is such a funny guy. When i was getting tattooed by Giacomo, he kept looking over his shoulder and telling him how much he fucked up and how much im going to regret the tattoo he was doing on me haha. Needles to say the tattoo turned out perfect ;)

I think for most people this won't look like much has been done, but oh well! All of the black/shading, with the exception of some clouds we're going to add, is now done. All of the lining, too. We had to line two more dragon feet and I thought I was going to die. If I never see another liner that size again, it'll be too soon! So now we get to start color after this, and I can't wait.
