5 days straight about 40 hours give or take, this is as far as we got, about 1.5 - 2 sessions left. done by dan molloy. these 5 days on my back was easier than my 3 days b2b on my arm. kinda regretting not booking 6 or 7 sessions instead to get it done.

My red footed booby was finished today.  I love the way my sleeve is progressing.  When I got my first tattoo a year ago, I thought it was going to be my only tattoo.  Hahahaha!!!

Needed some blood letting therapy this weekend ... caught my homie Richard Harding at Champion Tattoo (Edmonton, AB) just as he wrapped up another tattoo and he was quite agreeable to stay late on a Sunday to do this walk-in second layer tattoo for me:

spider shape is based off some old Pat Martyniuk flash, webbing was part draw on, part straight on with machine. we made waxed some ideads for some upcoming tattoo carnage. Turned out to be a really memorable Sunday evening.

Welcome to LST.  How old is that tattoo?  It looks great to me and if it's as fresh as I think it is, let it settle in before you decide to add to/tweak it.  I'd be afraid that adding much else would make it too busy and hard to read.

I hear you! My shoulder tattoo was much larger but a lot easier to cope with than my arm. It only got painful towards the end.

I'm super stoked. Yesterday I started my second tattoo, a tiger half sleeve on my left arm.  Done by Jeff Stress at Enso Tattoo in Columbus, Ohio.  I'll try to get better pics, this one is right after the fact.  Two things that amazed me, that it only took Kevin 2 hours and how much the pain level can change in just a matter of a couple inches.

The one thing it seems everyone agrees on when it comes to getting an apprenticeship is to GET TATTOOED.  Show your enthusiasm, be patient, and maybe you'll get lucky.  In the meantime, keep drawing!  It looks like you've got an eye for it.

More progress (3 more hours) and some touch up on areas that healed less well - still a long way from finishing but starting to really take shape! - FYI found a morning session so much easier than my normal late afternoon!

Any old non-scented moisturizer will do.  I use Aveeno myself, available at pretty much any drug store.  Go easy with whatever lotion you choose, your tattoo needs to breathe!  Too little is better than too much.

    Howdy everyone!

I've been lurking since March. I found the LST forum when I was planning my back piece. The back piece experience thread and the ladies thread were instrumental in my prepping and planning - I especially appreciate the insights of GingerNinja! So thank you GN and everyone else on this forum!

My favorite style of tattooing is blackwork and I look forward to being completely covered someday. I'm starting with places that stay covered at the office and will move on from there!

I just finished my back piece Saturday and will probably move on to one of my legs by next winter.

This was done by Hira Lupe at First Class Tattoo in NYC.

Aaaannnndddd one more: this tiger is an add on from Colin Baker who works at State of Grace Tattoo in San Jose, CA. The tiger wraps around the inside of my right thigh. The Lady Warrior tattoo was completed in August earlier this year. The tiger was an add on. He also completed a very intricate Rat Warrior (yup the Chinese zodiac thing is lit on my leg), but that one was done on the back of my thigh. When I can figure out how to do a 360 degree shot of my leg, I'll post pictures of the complete battle scene. The Chinese calligraphy that I posted above, compliments this battle scene. Loosely translated it means: Brave woman, escape the ordinary.

Got this nugget in Seoul, South Korea. Done by an artist with the instagram handle @Yuuztattooer. Took about 5 hours to complete. Doesn't speak much english, and I specifically went to Seoul to get a tattoo by him (I tacked on this special trip while in Hong Kong). Quite the experience, traveling to a foreign country I have never been to before. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Enjoy!
