I get tattooed by Grez on Saturday. Can't wait.
I really want to get a tattoo from Grez. He's high on my "next artist" list.

Yesterday by El Monga at Spider Murphy's....There's a better shot on his instagram, but you get the idea.
Sorry for the dumb question but where can I find him on IG? Thanks

I got my third piece from Ron Wells Friday, and I LOVE HER:
& if anyone wants the link to my Grez back piece progress, PM me. I don't want my butt all over the internet before its finished--after that, I of course give zero fucks.
I really like this lady head. I have one from Ron too and this one is definitely beautiful.

I'd say I've been getting more "meaning" questions the more tattoos I get. People seem surprised when I proudly say that not all of my tattoos have meanings with one person asking, "but aren't all tattoos supposed to have meaning?" NO! I usually just say I like the artwork or design or something.

Welcome and thanks for sharing the cool pictures. I'm from nearby CT, nice to have you on board.

@Wedge, that's so good!

I don't know what he's charging, but Seth Wood does some of the nicest snakes in the business.
As an amazing coincidence I just got a call back from another artist who's guesting near me in the summer who I emailed a couple of months ago about a different project. So now the snake is on hold for now and a clipper ship will be next. I guess things happen for a reason. Thanks though I will keep Seth Wood in mind when the time comes again and another member also suggested Timothy Hoyer. Thanks guys.

I was tattooed by Chris almost ten years ago. He is a great guy, and a large part of my love for tattoos comes from getting tattooed by him. If you can make it happen don't hesitate.
Unfortunately I just got a quote based on Garver's daily session rate and there's no way I'm paying what he's currently charging. I'm not above spending good money to get a great tattoo from a great artist but I have certain limits too. If it wasn't NYC I'm sure it would be much different. As far as I'm concerned he can charge as much as he wants if he can get it but not from me. Oh well, back to square one.

Chris Garver does killer snakes. I met Frank Romano at the Seattle Convention about three years ago, and he has an awesome cobra that Chris did on his stomach. And the one he did on Tim Hendricks is bad as shit as well.
I've been talking with Chris' assistant about getting a snake done this summer taken from one of his prints. It looks promising.

I'll be heading to Long Island, Brooklyn, & Queens the weekend of May 3-5th to hit a bunch of street shops and pick up a tattoo by Peter Giaquinto! I will probably visit with Cliff White, Richie and Mary Montgomery, Mike Perfetto, Tony Polito, Steve Delgatto, Ronnie Dell'Aquila, and.....Rich Fie and hit up all of their shops (minus Tony P.'s of course) and do some amount of hanging out but not sure if I will add any more work from them!
I may hop over to Staten Island to Marvin Moskowitz's shop too and get tattooed but I am mostly concentrating on the Brooklyn & Queens areas AND I do love an awesome street shop!
I may also pay a visit to Smith Street and see who's there that day too!
If anyone has any other suggestions for me to visit then please don't hesitate to speak up.....especially if they are close to any of the other shops I am gonna hit in Brooklyn & Queens!
I had some airline tickets I needed to use so NYC was the place I decided to use them on for a mini tattoo trip......I'll try to remember to take some photos!
I've only been to one shop in NY in Brooklyn... Three Kings Tattoo
Its an incredible shop and if you get lucky maybe you'll catch Ron Wells guesting.

I just got my first smartphone a couple of weeks ago. I've been loving the instagram thing, I'm wedge45 and so far posted mostly my tattoos, guns and bike.

I pretty much just have some random tattoos in varying styles so I've gone to different artists based on their "specialty." I really like going to different artists and different shops, though. For me, getting a tattoo includes enjoying the whole experience of going to a cool, new shop and meeting and experiencing different, talented artists in different towns and locations. Compared to most of the people here I have limited tattoo experience but I've been tattooed by old school veteran biker types, young new school artsy types, a world famous artist, local artists, etc., and have been tattooed in a cool shop in Brooklyn and at the great Hope Gallery in New Haven and Off the Map in Mass. I've been in shops that are private like doctors offices and others where I was just inside the main entrance behind the front counter. Again, for me I love experiencing all these different little things that go with getting a tattoo so I will continue to go to different artists and different shops for my future tattoos.

Love all the work
Here's my thigh piece. Done by my friend and mentor Angel Villanueva (Dringenberg & Co/ LA InkSpot). Hope I'm doing this right...
I really like this, nicely done. Definitely something on my long list of "upcoming tattoos." Myself, I go back and forth between full color or not with ship tattoos but I like the use of blacks and reds in this particular tattoo.

Welcome to the forum @fourtotheflush. What style are you looking for? Around Boston the first shop that comes to mind is Redemption Tattoo. They've got a strong lineup of artists there. I really like Erick Lynch but Mike Shea is good and Chris Marchetto just came on board, too.

@ProvidenceTattoo...just thought I'd chime in and say welcome and I'm a big fan of your work. I look forward to seeing more pictures and posts from you.

This is just the sketch that I gave my artist, shes turning it into a full chest piece that will flow into my arms and what I already have coming off my shoulders. Starting it on the 17th!
It seems like this has serious potential, I really look forward to seeing this one progress. For me, I'm still trying to decide the best way/place to do a flintlock type pistol. Good luck.

I haven't been but here's something from Murray Sell's blog about his opinion of the 2011 convention...
Had an awesome time seeing all my friends this year.Stayed fairly busy too. Didn't have a good time dealing with 800 tattooers in 500 booths. Seem like the bigger these things get, the shittier they become. 45 minute lines, being searched like common criminals, getting hastled by security over pocket knives and tattooing under cameras is pretty fucking LAME .Bummer. In my opinion the shariton Hotel was a FAR better establishment to hold a convention in.Biker gangs and all. I Dont know if I'll return next year.Might just tattoo at Olde City tattoo instead.

I finally got a somewhat decent healed picture of my Gil Elvgren pinup done a couple of years ago by Shane O'Neill.
