My husband is booked with Roxx in 2015 for a big chest-piece (his first tattoo), which means I'll be returning to CA for try #2 with Horitomo.

Noah has a variety of different things he does with his roses, so I think a little direction like you suggested is not too much control. As for your kitsune, it would have probably made very little sense to have the other hind leg visible with the way the fox is moving. It looks great!

I got my mom two monmon cat prints for Mother's day and she loves them. She's a crazy cat lady and loves Japanese art so I knew she would. I showed her some monmon cat tattoos she said they were "adorable" and "if I ever got a tattoo that is what I would get" but "not the skull one though."

I was worried because I didn't get a response for a while after I emailed to call it off. I think he's just dealing with a lot of email, since he seems to be doing his own booking for this.

In your opinions, would it look weird if i put black and gray tattoos next to a colorful japanese piece?
I'm thinking about something black and gray, maybe geometric, on my inner bicep or forearm.

To me hipster tattoos lack a genuine commitment and honesty. It's easier to be ironic and mock something than to put yourself out there with a belief that goes deep for you. I don't mean a tattoo that has personal meeting , but for me it would be like getting some horror tattoo and deflecting with how funny it is rather then how much I love horror.

If they become the engorged ones that are big enough to change the contour of the skin (think: rivers under the skin) then yeah, a design what would flow with that would be good - nothing with straight lines! I would think flowers would be good, or anything with swirlies or background.
I'm curious about the vessels being so close to the surface but I don't see how that would be different than regular veins. Boy, the skin over the river veins on the back of my hand is soooo thin. My granddaughter tried to wash the "dirt" off the back of my hand ... it was the blue from the veins! So cute :)

Compromises are OK, but not when only one member of the relationship is compromising! Also, tattoos are permanent. They are part of you. I like to say Vermont will always be my home and is a "part" of me, but I've compromised and accepted that it makes more sense for my husband to live closer to NYC. That is the biggest compromise I've made in our relationship, but he knows if he ever takes away a hobby of mine (ex. getting tattooed) were going to have some issues. I would never dream of discouraging him from following something he loves unless it was damaging his health or the relationship. Just my $0.02.

she got the skin grafts. where she had the round laser removal scar was really ugly once they opened it up for the skin graft. so a Spinal Surgeon checked it out since it was close to her Spine, and her Doc wanted a 4+ in section of meat removed. her tops of 2hr surgery turned in to 7hrs. due to the toxic UV color!(I want to stress this was not tattoo ink!!!)

I drove over 5 hours the day after getting mine. It wasn't pleasant but the real pain didn't start until I got home. For a while the transition from sitting to standing was difficult.

@ Keekatzz. We all have a different mindset why we choose to tattoo. When you have a different kind of motivation, you must expect not to receive the feedback you were probably looking for.
I don't explain my mindset why I do what I do, & I don't expect to understand your motivation.
I got my first tattoos at 17, which I still have & still love. I wouldn't get them now, but I wouldn't cover them also.
Some though, I have. Faaarkin, who cares.
If your dead set on leopard print down the back. Do it. Just do your research with a tattooer who can execute the design solid & kick arse.
You see, for most of us, the back tattoo is prime real estate and holds a very special meaning to us, but your motivation to tattoo is different to those of us who understand this, so walk the path you feel you need to.

Horitomo - for a monmon cat of my cat. I saw the drawing at our consult last week - it was AWESOME, exactly what I had pictured in my head and then some.

I know your motivation for getting tattooed is a lot different than most people's, but still, I would wait until at least the mid 20s if I were you, before deciding to cover the entire back. I don't know much about otherkin or anything, will you still be interested in looking like a jaguar when you're 40? I guess I just can't relate so I'm sorry if that's a dumb question, but it's worth thinking about. What about a good shirt or jacket with jaguar print? Would that do the same thing, or does it have to be a tattoo?
That being said, aesthetically, I don't think there's anything wrong with a jaguar print tattoo. If I were you I'd talk to people who are into doing blackwork, like this 2Spirit Tattoo | Blackwork & Dotwork Tattoos

Obviously I'm new to the forum. I honestly never thought I would get a tattoo, despite thinking they look really cool, simply because I have an intense fear of pain. Oddly enough I can handle getting shots for the most part, so long as I anticipate them to hurt like the dickens, so I'm assuming the same is true for tattoos.
Personally I only really want one tattoo, and it holds a lot of really special meaning to me, but it's sort of unconventional (in my opinion anyway) and I'm not sure how to go about getting it. I mean, I'm wondering how long people think it might take, or how complicated it is, etc. Plus it'd be nice to hear about this sort of thing from other people too, haha.
Anyway, what I want is a jaguar coat pattern down my back, but not just the simple rosettes, but like the actual pattern of a jaguar pelt as you would see it, but down my back:

I'd want it to just be black on my skin, without any coloring underneath it.
