Reading the original and follow-up posts I don't quite read anything that suggests the artist was flat-out rude or a 'wankstain'.
That said, it sounds like for whatever reason the OP is not a good fit with this artist, or vice versa.
A bad day all round, some clash of personalities, maybe the unfortunate presence of the other customers... Sounds like there were a few things feeding into it?
Either way I think go elsewhere: It's fair to say that for whatever reason he and his studio rub you up the wrong way. It doesn't need to be a big thing, just go elsewhere.

Those who got the face tattoos were usually in for the long haul. Many were a big fuck-you to communism and the prison system.

My fiance is going to rehab for a month next week, so I have decided to spend the time he is away writing a letter to him telling the story of our relationship. I've been in a writing lull lately, but I think this will help me get through the next month with plenty of material and also will be a sort of catharsis for all the shittyness going on in our lives right now. We are en route to get married next summer or the following (should his sobriety stick this time around), so I'm hoping to give him this piece of writing as a wedding gift.
Sorry for getting so heavy on this thread, but I'm stoked to start working on this and think it's an "awesome thing" :) I'm a firm believer in finding and holding onto happiness in our darkest moments.

Two wins: Got the anti-social old man out of his house, AND got the scrawny old man to consume some calories. He ate all of his dipped cone and most of mine. (I can eat a lot, but I've never been able to pack away a lot of ice cream.)

Just had the other thigh done, more traditional forget-me-nots, but in a lighter blue than they usually are. Took some poor quality selfies. I really like them, but a mild blowout occurred on the other thigh (about 1/16" of an inch or less) near the pubic bone on the other thigh, and I'd like to add petals on the right, so I'll be back in as soon as I'm fully healed and toughened up in a few weeks.

I think you'll have a very good experience as a person who isn't neurotypical getting a tattoo. It's a very focused thing, if that makes sense.

Got this one today. It was the easiest tattoo I've had so far in regards to pain. I wouldn't be worried about the front of the thigh.

I understand. I've put nothing but different types of flowers on my thighs and I'm sort of trying to figure out how to work in different pieces. I plan on working in a koi when I redo the little cherry blossom, but as far as deciding what else, I jump around. I know I want more petals on the right thigh. Those are ALL plans for the right thigh.
The left is a bit trickier. I have some delphinium on my left inner thigh. I've thought about working a mouse in a bit of raspberry plant with berries and flower on the outer part. I also enjoy writing, so I thought it might be fun to put an old tyme typewriter with an anchor weighing it down... Sort of a fun abstraction. Just some ideas.

I finally got enrolled in college again after about a 10 year "break".

Thanks! I actually have three koi from Henning, the two on my thigh and one on my left arm. I'm a big fan of his koi and they bring back fond memories of when my late grandmother used to buy goldfish for my brother and I when we were kids. Now I know goldfish are more kingyo than koi, but they fit the same style for me.

This is a funny one because on the one hand I see people with people's names written on their necks and few other tattoos, or big paragraphs of text which is pretty illegible and I think 'what in the name of all that's holy were you thinking?!?'
On the other hand I think who am I to criticise ? It's their body, they may absolutely love their tattoos. When they look in be mirror that neck tattoo proclaiming 'Shug' for all to see might make them happy. Is that not the whole point or tattoos ? They are for the person who wears them not for us. Not everyone is going to get what I perceive to be a beautiful tattoo and actually that's ok with me. If we were all the same the world would be an incredibly tedious place.
I have a few script tattoos. They don't mean anything or sentiment. I'm a big word geek and just love the way slightly unusual words look in fancy lettering. Last night I got 'Vagabond Soul' tattooed script. It won't make any sense to alot of people but I love the way the words look.
Anyhow I digress. There's my contribution :)

I've wanted tattoos forever and my parents have always tried their best to dissuade me from getting any, to the point of threatening to kick me out. The summer after I turned 18, I decided I wanted a tattoo to memorialize that I was going away for college and to try to remind me to stick to my values (I've been straight edge since I was 14 and wanted something to kind of rebel against the traditional college lifestyle). I told my parents I wanted to get one and told them what I wanted (the Minor Threat sheep) and they were actually okay with it, a lot more okay with it than I expected. My dad has 4 tattoos, so he kind of gave me the whole "It's going to hurt soooo much, it's your funeral" speech to discourage me, but ended up saying it was my choice. My mom has always been into art, but not tattoos, so she was a little more hesitant. She ended up being okay with it because she said it was "cute" enough. :D My mom actually went with me because she was worried about me passing out on the drive home, and she did better than your average mom. The place I went to was 2 levels, the first floor was like the lobby and the tattooing happened upstairs; she waited downstairs and wasn't your typical mom hovering over the artist. They both were happy with my second one I recently got. I'm not sure what's caused them to change their minds, but it seems like they've slowly come around in the past few years.

Had fun re-purposing toilet paper rolls into cute monsters with my kindergartners...also dressed up like a "teacher stereotype" for halloween. That took some explaining to our students. We joked with the class that instead of having a party we were going to have them write a thousand sentences. When they started to protest, we taught them to sing "You gotta fight for your right to party". It was a fun day.

I talk about my recurrent rash, does anyone want to see it? Never a taker... A vague reference to a boil on my scrotum that needs to be lanced has yet to fail.

This thread should be called "Please explain to me the basis of tipping?" This subject has been spoken about a few times. You either understand tipping or you don't. There's no magical formula for tattooing. You are giving extra money based on your satisfaction. The key is "YOUR" satisfaction, that's all you need to concern yourself with.
