Since I've only been getting tattooed since 2014, I think everybody has seen most of these recently, so it feels a little bit weird to submit them again so soon, haha. But I do have some pieces taken from very classic flash! I'm not sure that I ever posted all of them, anyway. All but the last one were done by Greg Whitehead, but I'm looking forward to getting more one-offs like this soon from other people!

The shoulder-area bird was my first tattoo, and it's a Percy Waters design. The snake in a flower pot is based on Dietzel flash, the diving girl is a Jensen piece and was actually sort of a filler, the elbow butterfly/rose is...uhh, actually, I'm not 100% sure. Someone said it was Jensen, but I don't remember if that's true. I remember Greg saying that it came from a whole lot of flash from the early 1900s that used to be attributed to a mystery artist, but was later identified as belonging to someone specific...I just can't for the life of me remember who it was. The lady with a snake is a Cap Coleman design, and I love her to bits.

The last one was Christopher Ayalin at Liberty, and I got it when I went on a fun tattoo day trip with @beez. A lot of people do flower/snake/dagger stuff, so I dunno...Jensen-ish? I guess? Aside from the color I guess it's still pretty classic traditional subject matter.

And now you have seen like half of my tattoos all at once!

Just checked out the photos! Sensational!!
Props to anyone who can get their nipples done! Seriously some days if I look at mine the wrong way they ache.
I did see a tattoo in a magazine recently, full front torso piece on a man and he had his nips done. It looked great and made sense really. Like previously mentioned, if they haopen to fall smack dab in the tattoo it can look odd if they arent done. Then again I have seen other chest or full torso pieces where they leave the nipples, but because the tattoo itself is so bloody brilliant it doesnt even matter.
    I guess I'm a fence sitter?

Better! If you do some searching, there are allot of really solid traditional images of strongmen and weightlifters, most taking reference from old sideshow strongmen flyers. Really cool stuff.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to join. At the moment I have only one tattoo (just got it 6 days ago) but plan on getting many more. I like mainly American Traditional (Sailor Jerry) tattoos.

Hello everyone, I'm posting here because it looks like I need to make 10 good, informed posts elsewhere before starting a general topic discussion. I got my first tattoo a week ago, and it's healed nicely. The thing is, while it looked perfect at the shop, once healed up (and after hours of staring at it in the mirror) I've noticed a few things. Mainly three instances where the artist's hand slipped when doing shading/linework, and some blowout around some lines, which I understand is caused by the needle going too deep. My question is, should I go back to the same artist to have it touched up or should I go elsewhere? Is the overall quality of the work good? Despite these (possible non) issues I would like to continue getting tattoed by the same artist. Also it should be noted that this is based off of some Sailor Jerry flash I've liked for a while.

EDIT: While the placement may look wonky in some pictures that's just due to my awful posture. It's actually dead-on.

i would be patient until your tattoo is healed, sometime blow out and stuff can die down when your healing process is complete!

Thanks everyone. I do have a tendency to over-analyze everything. I do love the tattoo, tiny imperfections and all, and look forward to getting many more from the same artist. I think the best way to stop stressing about this one while it heals is to plan future ones

My first tattoo is a traditional eagle with American flag. Planning on adding smaller tats around it though. So much wasted space

The koi and dragon is a great image. There is a Chinese legend of The Dragon Gate, where the koi that ascends the waterfall and reaches the peak is transformed into a dragon. In Japan, the koi repressents hard work, dedication, and confidence. The koi s a symbol used on Boys Day, in hopes that your sons would be like the koi. The koi swimming the waterfall and being transformed into a powerful beast repressents over coming obstacles in ones life and attaining greatness and success through hard work and dedication. The dragon ascending into the heavens repressents success in life.
I think you should have the koi on your forarm and dragon on you upper arm. Its a beautiful image, and great story. The hannya repressents anger, jealousy and sarrow, and can be used as a symbol of change, (usually paired with maple leaves for this reason) a repressentation of the full swing of human emotion, (sarrow and mourning to bitter hatred and jealousy) or the dark side to something that was once beautiful. As far as motifs go it doesnt really fit. Id leave it out of your sleeve and get a seperate one-point style hannya elsewhere on your body.
But this is just my western impression of the info I have. I encourage you to do your own research.
I can see the tattoo now, with the koi on the forarm paired with rocks, water and sea grass, transitioning to the dragon on your upper arm paired with clouds and whirlwind. Really beautiful.

I recently read about this white tiger,. His name is Kenny and he's an inbred, he also has an inbred brother called Willie.

Search for Kenny the inbred, its a good read if you are interested in animal rescue etc.
