Before that I used to brew my espresso on the hob, in a pot. I don't think I've bought instant coffee for 10 years, horrible stuff.

My wife's a redhead with pale skin and if I remember correctly didn't you mention you have red hair and pale skin? Shading on very pale skin can resemble a raw hamburger on a fresh tattoo but is quite normal.

But then my wifes a tough old bird.

I photographed my wifes neck tattoo healing from 24th December to 8th January.

The photos are in date order from the 24th December - 31st December. The last one is 8th January.

Theres a couple a tattoos of Siamese cats.

I've seen very few good paintings and even fewer good tattoos of these beautiful cats, but he's nailed these.

Stewart - I have heard that ibuprofen can be a useful thing to take just prior to tattooing because it can reduce inflammation, therefore making the skin easier to work on. Is this another myth? I didn't take any, but as someone with fair and rather sensitive skin (I'm a redhead) I wonder if it might help the tattooer?

Yes but only if he/she has a bad headache. ;)
