  1. I'm living in Wisconsin right now and I'm too scared to find out. Is this only for UK people?

Good thing I quit tobacco and I've never been a smoker or lottery player.

I had a search for a US version. Couldn't find one.

  2. You guys pay more than 7 pounds for a pack of cigarettes? Are you crazy?

This from the country where you get fined if you don't buy cable t.v. Biggest bunch of Nanny staters on planet Earth. Thank God America rebelled 250 years ago or it'd be a 10 quid fine for jerking off without wearing a helmet.

And you would have all this Jubilee Shit to put up with.

Talk about Nanny State. You can't even buy more than one pack of painkillers at a time either. It'd be easier, where I live, to score some crack.

You did the right thing dumping that tea into the harbour, a while back.

  3. There were about 4 bands playing that night in my hometown. The Clash, who were headlining were playing across the road in a bigger hall. Anyway a fire broke out in the hall and burnt it down, destroying the place and the Clashs' sound system. A local band, XTC lent the Clash their gear for the night so that their set could go ahead in the smaller club.

The opening number was Londons Burning but Joe changed the lyrics to Swindons Burning. Packed in like sardines, sweaty, eardrums getting shattered. Fucking amazing night.

Got arrested and charged with criminal damage and theft for pulling down some 25th Jubilee bunting, that year. £25 fine.

I think I'll stay in over the 60th Jubilee bank holiday and keep out of trouble.

Barnett - your Dad's tattoo was done by Bert Vallar at 404 Argyle street, Glasgow, Scotland.

Bert was the son of Prince Vallar who tattooed in Glasgow from 1911 until his death in 1949. Bert served his apprenticeship under his father and also ran the shop until around 1964. He was world famous - long before the internet, TV or and print exposure - and was revered for his fine line single-needle and freehand style.

I have a picture of the exact same tattoo that was also done by Bert around the same time.

Prince Vallar was a society tattooist who modeled himself on the great tattooists of the early 1900's such as George Burchett, Sutherland MacDonald and Prof. Tom Riley.

    Thats something else.

  5. @RoryQ I bought a couple of bottles from M&S at Paddington Station yesterday for the journey back home. I never noticed the little tab on the neck of the bottle showing it was brewed at the Meantime Brewery. That would explain why it was so good. This was a 500ML bottle though. £2.55 a bottle.

    I just love porter.

  6. 6X by Wadworths a local brewery in Devizes, about 19 miles from where I live.

They've been brewing beer from this brewery since 1875

Tastes better out of a bottle. But this is still good.

  7. Apart from the National Lottery, no. I work as a fraud analyst in the banking sector. Part of my job entails monitoring visa card spend. The amount of people I see that are caught up in online betting is pretty scary. A never ending financial nightmare of payday loans (at 3000% interest) followed by betting transactions. These people usually end up going into an authorised overdraft situation. To pile on the misery we hit them with bank charges. I also see some customers who are professional gamblers, but these are few and far between. These people do it for a living not to feed an addiction.

I don't know much about gambling addiction but I've lived with a alcoholic and it's not fun.

Good to hear you got over the worst of it but don't you think what you are doing could eventually get out of control?

  8. Ice cold cider on a typically ice cold English Summers Eve. One of the few places on earth, during summer, where you leave the drink out of the fridge to chill it down.

This is really good cider. Medium dry and made from a single apple variety.

  9. @jade1955 i normaly take them out of the holder but that is because i'm kind of a retard when it comes to motor-skills (is that an english word?:P) and at the pub i frequent you have to give your left show as a guarantee if you drink the beer out of a glass like that since theyre apparently expensive and they dont have many of them. I like my shoe so i don't want to break a glass. The beer is delicious thou, just had a few. I love my pub. It has no bar seats, instead it has swings hanging from the ceiling. Genius.

Ha ha yeah they do that shoe thing in some bars in Belgium.

    My all time favorite

I've got one of those glasses.

So tell me do you drink holding the glass or do you drink with the glass in the stand holding the handle?
