I re-wrapped a tattoo once never again.
I will never forget the smell when I removed the wrapping several hours later. It had the smell of death. The last time I smelt something like that was when I opened a packet of minced beef that had "gone off".
You can heal tattoos by using sarin wrap. I believe burns are healed this way. The wrapping needs to be changed at least three or more times a day.
The only thing I use sometimes, and thats only on lower leg tattoos is a very fine tubular gauze for a couple of days (it's to keep cats hairs away from the tattoo). The tattoo can breathe and if the gauze sticks to the tattoo a little warm water loosens it, no problem.
Personally I can't see the benefits of re-wrapping a tattoo with sarin wrap but each to their own.

Just stumbled upon this on YouTube about these co-joined twins. A pair of remarkable young women.

3 days ago + another 4, thats a week so should be pretty much healed and not an open wound anymore.
Just wash it after race.
I agree with @bulldog Because it is just the outline less surface area of your skin is affected so it should be healed well enough. However I would stay away from sarin wrap as it will trap sweat & bacteria. Your new tattoo needs the air to get to it to heal. So I wouldn't worry too much. Just out of interest, why do they have to throw coloured corn starch powder over you?
For future reference pre-planning your tattoo sessions to fit in with other activities is allways a good idea if you can.
We've all been there. Last year I booked two lower leg tattoos a couple of days before the London Tattoo Convention. After walking around all day my legs swelled up so much I had to take two days off work.

Stoney Knows How.
This is a book about tattoo artist Stoney St Clair. The books full of great stories and some nice flash. He was probably one of the last links to the world of the travelling carnival tattooer. He also overcame a crippling disability that left him wheelchair bound for most of his life.
He's definitely on of my tattoo heroes
Here's a link to a short film (he's being interviewed by a young Ed Hardy)

A suggestion might be to make the newbies make more of a contribution before being allowed to start threads.
I've witnessed some newbies just going into the initiation thread and just posting multiple "Hi" s to get their post count up.
I appreciate it might be difficult to monitor though.

Part one of my tattoos goes into the centre of the armpit. Personally I just washed twice a day and it was fine. No deodorant on that armpit for a couple of weeks.
The instuctions on deodorants will tell you not to apply to broken skin.

From my recent trip to New York
Tattooed by Bailey Hunter Robinson on Saturday.
And this one on my titty. Done on Sunday. Tattooed by Eli Quinters at Smith Street Tattoo Parlour, Brooklyn, NY.

Look at you, living up to what it is I had gone and assumed about the people here.
Yeah dude, totally bad idea. I'll keep that in mind next time I want to get a chimpanzee with a crown and cross bones.
A self portrait then?
Go for it.

Just got back from New York. I had such a great time. Along with some pretty hillarous attempts navigating the NYC subway system for the first time.
Here are the tattoos from Bailey Hunter Robinson. And from Eli Quinters at Smith Street. Both really fantastic studios but so different from each other. Baileys is really quiet and intimate and Smith Street is really buzzing. I could sit on the john in the washroom at Smith Street all day just looking at the flash on the walls.
Eli and I have the same tattoo on the same thumb (a fly).
Originally I was going to get a rose tattoo from Eli. Anyway just up the road from the hotel I found this great shop that sold some really good beer. I saw this beer called Coney Island Lager. On the label was a picture of the Coney Island Steeplechase Guy and that was it.
Also met up with @Reyeslv at Smith Street on Sunday. He got a great tattoo from Steve Boltz and we had a really nice chat.

Just received an AWESOME tattoo from Steve Boltz. Can't post a photo yet as I'm still at the shop waiting for the others. It's been fun, I ran into @jade1955 and we talked a bunch and he head out to the airport..... By the way, the barcode tattoo is not happening....
@Reyeslv Really great to meet up. That tattoo you got from Steve is "The Dogs Bollocks" (as we say over the pond). Hope the elbow is not too swollen, buddy, ouch!
