HELP! This tattoo makes me overly sad

Recommended Posts

This was a cover up. This arm tat was originally seven yellow roses. I went into a shop in San Antonio, and walked out with this. I wanted simple B&W roses. I don't have a picture of the yellow roses from before, but trust me. THEY WERE SOOOO PALE! That was the major reason for getting them redone in B&W. I honestly don't see how this could be fixed.. but im desperate for some at least decent roses on my arm at this point. Maybe leaving my arm alone is the only option I have left now. But im seriously sad every time I see this horrible mess on my arm.

Ive read that some artist will use white of course to dull down the black ink and then possibly add better lining and shading.. but im not a tattoo artist. IM LOST.. NEED A TATTOO ARTIST TO SAVE ME!

Also I had taken a video of this tattoo.. and then realized I cannot upload it on here. If anyone needs a better pic of this horrible tattoo .. Let me know. But I think you get the idea of what my upper arm looks like .. sadness.

Take a deep breath, do your research and take your time fixing this. When it's fully healed, go see someone who specializes in coverups. Get multiple referrals. It's not going to be quick, easy or cheap.

I understand time and money are needed. Wanting to hear from someone who has possibly fixed something like this..? The tattoo is FULLY healed. This tattoo was done five years ago.

Still looks just as bad.. Just a little faded.

You might have better luck if you share where you are from. You could probably get recommendations for Artists in your area that specialize in coverups.

Was told by an artist today "ouch" "unfortunately i would not be able to fix this, you might need laser removal first"

😐😫 I'm hoping this is not my last option! I've had laser removal done before ( due to uniform regulations, nothing above the neck ) its not bad.. Like bacon grease popping. So it's not the pain that concerns me.. More like time & money.

I needed a cover up on my arm, and it took me a few months and several consultations before I found the right artist that said "sure ! no problem, I can do that".

she said she was a cover up specialist .

After that I did some more research on her and realized she was the one,

all the artists I spoke to before that didn't want to or didn't think it could be done, after all was said and done, she did a great job and I am super happy with the cover up,

you need to be diligent and patient about the process, do your homework and research.

Right. I totally get that and definitely thought about that after his response. I will keep trying and trying. Thank you for your response.

Again if anyone knows of anyone they can refer me to. Please let me know.

It's pretty dark. Laser 1st would open up a world of options, and you are going to want to wear the final result forever. Once lightened, go see Annie Frenzel in Austin (used to be in SA).

Thank you so much for your response and referral. I really appreciate it.

    • One thing not to worry about is "being unique"....unless you or your artist just rips off another persons work, your tattoo will be unique. The classics are the classics for a reason. Have you considered a Battle Royale? A bit of a different take on the meanings but could be cool (do an internet search). Or if you are religious, maybe a Rock of Ages. I am throwing some classic ideas out just for fun.  What style are you considering?
    • Well i had that in mind actually, the problem is i can't find any good symbols that mirrors the words. 🤨

      Wisdon is easy = Owl..
Truth, might be scale or something, but i think a scale is more of Justice..
Honor, that' hard.. Maybe an animal, a Lion?
      Compassion, hmmm a Rose?
Loyalty is hard to put into an image too.. :/
      Respect..
Courage. that could actually be more like a symbol of mind because courage comes from sub-counciousness  :D

Oh. and the texts are not supposed to be in one big pile like in the picture i added. They will be split up, Honor, truth and loyalty will come near each other,
Compassion and wisdom are a pair, and Respect and courage a pair.

Or if im boring i will just list them on my back (joking) , because those texts or symbols to them are what i want.
They mean so much to me. There is always room ro fill in with something later.
