  1. My girl has started getting on my case to slow down, I have been getting a tattoo at a rate of approx 1 a month for the last year, which is cool as with my laser also i am getting fed up with always having something healing. Even so I have booked my next tattoo in two months time which I will mention a couple of days before to limit the nagging. She also has asked me not to tattoo my legs, looks like ill have to by some long socks in the future too!!

Considering she has no tattoos she is pretty cool about tattoos though.

I Am going through this as well except my girl is my wife, I will not get any for a while and let the dust settle

  2. little do they know but todays pre christmas workout is going to be devilish.

circuit 1: db bench press, db rows, rowing machine 500m in 1m 30 secs x3

circuit 2: farmers walks with 100 lb dbs up stairs around froom and down other stairs back to weight floor(approx 160 ft), pull ups, weighted pushups, dynamax side throws x3

    circuit 3 : dynamax log throws and chase,banded kb swings,dips x2

  3. this is so silly, there is no need for all this hoopla. If your hesitant why not ask the wealth of knowledge right here are your fingertips? there are many contributors here from California both enthusiasts and tattooers. It can be as simple as I think xxx guy is who I am going to, I live xxx. what do you guys think. It sucks you got a bad tattoo but you dont have to repeat the process or go at alone trying to find a good tattoo.

  4. I showed this to fellow tattooer Laz Barath from Budapest, He started tattooing in 95' in Budapest. He has an outsiders perspective of american tattooing,we have very interesting conversation.anyways, he translated some of the imagery,i.e. meanings.

very cool @Shannon Shirley did he share anything not in the russian encyclopedias? DO the meanings still hold value?(i see alot of knifes through neck on instagram ) There is one image from one of the books I would love to get

  5. Another that's been continually blowing my mind with pretty much any style, but the Japanese stuff is becoming very creative is our own Stewart Robson. I personally love some of the less traditional Japanese stuff he's been doing lately but the guy can also kill it with the traditional Japanese stuff. I've seen photos of his more traditional stuff but seeing @Reyeslv back in person showed me on a whole other level.

I totally agree @Stewart Robson is doing some awesome tattoos. I have seen more than a handfull that made me cuss. Seeing him tattoo chain mail on @Reyeslv was awesome, it looks so good in person. It was sensory overload to see that plus look down and see beautiful tattoing done for me by Valerie.

  6. 1.) Best LST Thread: FUll back piece thread, latest tattoo lowdown

    2.) Worst LST Thread:

3.) Favorite tattoo you got this year (pls say by who and what shop): Back piece by @Scott Sylvia BlackHeart Tattoo San Francisco: Our Shop - Jeff Rassier, Tim Lehi, Scott Silva, Nick Rodin, Cody Miller, Juan Puente

4.) Favorite tattoo another LSTer got this year (pls say by who and what shop if you know): @Ryan back piece by @Tim Hendricks Gold Rush Tattoo and @bulldog eagle by @Valerie Vargas http://frithstreettattoo.co.uk/

5.) Favorite tattoo artist you discovered through LST: my tattoo education is in thanks to LST so I have learned about all the tattooers I like from here

6.) How'd you find LST: searching for ideas on covering my back, lucky day for me

7.) Favorite part of the site: forums, this is my social networking I dont have FB twitter or any of the other stuff so this is where I go when online

8.) Area of the site you spend most your happy time at: Interviews, they genuinely make me happy to be around all this great stuff

9.) What do you want more of: I liked reading posts by tattooers and it has dropped some and I know why but it would still be cool to read more of that

10.) Sum up the year in one word: mourn

BONUS: Favorite quote of the year...... @Lance

"This is one of those times where one looks at this, knows they are conciously starring at man-ass but just can't take their eyes away from it nor do they care too. ;-)" in regards to full back piece thread

  7. i always wondered how bad it would be to heal a back piece. how is sleeping? more importantly, how do you put any kind of lotion on the tattoo?

    scrolling through the awesomness

in my case healing was pretty quick, sleeping was best done on side and lotion is tricky but can be done solo if needed. IT helps to have long arms but using backsides of hands(to apply lotion) and also using other arm to assist in stretch make it possible. Luckily my wife and 3 yr old are up for the daily challenge of feeding my backpiece its lotion

  8. Actually, this and another laser thread have inspired me to pursue a larger back piece. My 1st laser session is this afternoon, so after 4-5 sessions I'm planning on some new work in 2014. I'll start a new thread with before, during and after pictures in the Spring. Thanks.

you must be talking about @ian That guy must be living right, he has lots of nice tattoos.

I am so glad this thread helped you. I have come along way in my appreciation since the infancy of this thread. I owe everyone here a big thank you and if I can pass on any help would be glad to do so.

  9. I really never considered this a traditional tattoo site, but more a quality tattoos site. Traditional is the sense maybe that we talk about people who have established themselves in the tattoo world, more than recent trends in tattoo design. Although some would say getting traditional tattoos is kind of in style right now, others would say they never go out of style. But ultimately I think people who do quality work in any style get a fair amount of respect here.

But I guess this site can be a lot of different things to a lot of different people and regardless of how we see it, we all seem to be a fan of some of the stuff discussed here.

I dont have anything to add, just that this needs to echoed again for the good point

  10. thanks everyone he sent me a few pictures and one spartan/warrior looked very poor compared to a tiger and a mary(the mary seemed like I have seen it somewhere before credited to someone else.

he is getting a st. defeating lucifer.

ok he sent via phone a mary which I think Jun cha did and a spartan that didnt look good which had me thinking bad. After googling and looking through portfolio I feel better that those 2 tattoos are no where to be found and likely a mistake on my friends part while researching.

  11. I thought the same thing about the pictures, the imagery seemed way too familiar, but I think it's just these are the things people get in this style, portraits of the joker, that spider, skulls ripping out of skin. I think the tattoo your friend wants could be a good fit for this guy, but I guess I understand your concern to some degree. I mean if it was me and I was traveling to NYC, this guy wouldn't be at the top of my list, probably because of style, and there are people here in Portland that tattoo in similar, not to say there aren't good tattooers everywhere, but I understand sometimes it's harder to find what you want in some parts of the country.

yeah i dont know what he is going there for probably military related but I wouldnt have picked the guy out of the NYC arfea talent pool either. I am sure he will get a good tattoo but some of those tattoos looked really nice while a few were flat or at least uninspiring

    @Joe Shit thanks man

@Therinx he will be in NYC but going to SI to get tattooed sorry for confusion
