  1. Trevino told me another story when he tattooed me in 1993. A guy came in and said, "Do a Mickey Mouse on me, any way you want." So of course, Chris's eyes light up, and he says, "Any way I want?" Then he grinned at me and said, "Mickey was holding his cock, which was green and as big as he was. There was a big drop of purple cum drippin' off the end, and Mickey's tongue was out and his eyes were rollin' back."

I just looked at him and said, "Really?!"

"Yeah. He came back a few years later and I covered it up."

@hogg. Damn, that's an awesome story! I laughed for about thirty minutes just thinking about the visual on that one.

  2. i noticed that after 12 years of living in ohio and seeing tattoos on a regular basis, when i went back to atlanta to visit earlier this year i noticed very few people with visible tattoos. i know there are plenty of people in the metro area and wouldve expected to see more. i did notice i got a lot more weird looks and people starring down there. it was kinda comforting actually. i think in general there is a larger working class population in this part of ohio, so tattoos have been alot more socially acceptable.

i also just noticed that i said notice or some variation of it several times...

Dude, you think Atlanta is bad, come to Nashville...

That said, I never get tired of the reaction.

  3. Hey Folks,

We upgraded the forum software today and I'm seeing a few glitches and tweaks that need to be made, but overall things should be working as expected.

Please post in this thread if you find any major issues.

    Thanks

    Steve

I can't reply to a thread without unless I double click quick reply, then it adds your quote even though I didn't mean to.

  4. GOOD

    Please let it be good!

Actually, it probably doesn't matter either way if its good or bad.

I ordered pizza last Friday night and the delivery person turned out to be a girl who couldn't have been any more than 19 or 20 years old. She had no visible tattoos other than a HUGE, GNARLY, AWFUL LOOKING neck tattoo.

I was thinking to myself that that poor kid was probably going to end up making a career out of delivering pizza.

  5. yeah ursula that sucks. I was lucky enough to find this place when i was close to getting what would have been a subpar cover backpiece. It was here I learned about the different styles and artists which make me salivate today. 4 laser sessions and months later I am nearing a good starting point for talking with potential artists and Ideas. I dont know exactly what style I want(james briggs B&g or a sylvia or peck trad piece) but I am at least in a better spot to make a no loose decision. If someone sees this show becomes immersed in learning about quality work it can only help tattoists get respect they deserve as artists but me as a collector suffers with longer waits or possibly no openings because the masses become more educated. I guess its never a good time to be selfish. Ahh I am rambling now time to shut my pie hole

but this has me thinking peck for a piece

    That back piece is GLORIOUS!

Oliver Peck has been at the top of my bucket list of tattoo artists for awhile now. Seeing that piece sealed the deal.

  6. Over the course of the last year and a half I got bit by the tattoo bug really bad. I've been in the chair 14 different times in that span, and it's all because I found the artist who can translate my ideas into tattoos i really want to wear for the rest of my life. Every time I've gone in to see him so far it's been one of these three ways:

    1) "I've got this old tattoo from the (80's or 90's), would you be willing to fix it? You can do whatever you want to make it better."

    2) I don't tattoo, but I can draw respectably well, enough so that I can take an idea to him on paper and say "Can you make this work where I want it? Do whatever you need."

    3) Go in with the vaguest of reference materials and say "I'd like something with a lucky horseshoe and a black cat, do whatever you want." Almost shit myself when I saw what he came up with. And ended up with my current favorite tattoo on my body.

So far, trusting the the guy that is gonna tattoo me has been working out really well for me. Maybe it helps that I don't attach any deep meaning to any of my tattoos, I'm just really drawn to the style of art that tattoos represent.

    Just my 2 cents.
